Ridiculous decision need to move on as a club - too much loyalty to a bit part player who only contributes by clattering into opposition players and giving away free kicks.

We already have Hendo, VVD etc for experience at the club.

Love Milner but disappointed to read that.

The player quite clearly has an influence beyond on the pitch

If Klopp wants him to stay another year then all good for me - wouldn’t surprise me if he starts to get more involved in coaching

Keep him on the coaching staff but th3 rumour £140,000 pw extension could be well spent elsewhere ..

Sentiment has nothing to do in this game, Uncle Bob would have got rid years ago.

If we want him on the coaching staff that’s a different matter, get him in as a coach.

We have enough mentors in the club for the younger players.

Think your right, me finks it’s another way of FSG avoid  to spending in the summer transfer market. 

Probably announce deal done in the summer as Salah’s replacement....😂

I kind of agree with some of the comments above. I absolutely admire the man, and am very thankful for everything he's done for us, but do we still really need him as a player?
I have no problem with the extension however, if it means we progressively start to integrate him into the staff.

If Klopp wants him to stay it won’t be because of sentiment it will because he still sees his worth in the squad

Kind of torn on this one. I trust Klopp has his reasons if he wants him to stick around, but those are pretty high wages (rumored) for someone that probably won't see much action. If he's willing to hang up the boots, keep him around as a coach. Otherwise for me, that money is probably better spent on Salah's new contract (or Mane's or Firmino's).

On reflection I'm not disappointed.

I did think he was off and thought I would have wanted him moved in but he's obviously an integral part of the culture Jürgen wants to harbour and if he stays for another year and it doesn't affect our other transfer business then it's only a good thing for me.

I still am simply because i can concerned Jürgen loves him so much that he will overuse him. Milly should be purely a late-game sub to use his experience to help us close the game but this year we have seen Jürgen start him when others were healthy which really hampers our midfield.
