Record this man's 90 minutes, replay it to anyone wanting to learn about perseverance. He could have resigned himself to the groans of the crowd after a succession of failed corners but he didn't. He was going to prove everyone wrong...and he did.

      A hero's performance from James. A captain's performance.

Gets unfairly criticised but is one industrious player.

Another couple of assists for Milner. Having the strength, determination, energy and ability to get to the byline to put such a great cross in says it all.

Erm I would rather someone else takes the corners than wait for 1 to clear the first defender. Not too much to ask for?

The plodder came through again with two assists, the second one involving a sixty yard sprint and it led to the winning goal.

As I've said all along, I can't understand why the boss keeps picking him.

F**k me. Two assists tonight, and you choose to concentrate on trivial matters such as corners just so you can justify your undoubted spite in the match thread. How about you show some humility and applaud the guy. You try playing in front of 40,000 fans who groan at every corner that fails to get passed the first man and still pop up late on to provide the goods for which we all celebrate.

How about we all just step back from the knee jerk criticism which Milner gets in atrocious abundance and realise we've got a fine asset and selfless player here in James and a man who will walk through walls to prove not just himself but his fellow team mates and his manager's quality. Perseverance, determination, spirit and hard graft - that's what makes a Liverpool player and James IS a Liverpool player.

Get off your high horse I have said Milner can do a job on the right but he is useless as a CM, no great surprise we improved after Allen came on.
We both saw the set piece delivery during the 90 mins you are happy, I thought we could do better.

Has like 4 or 5 assists in the last several games. He is finding his groove.

He shouldn't be on corners, but he definitely redeemed himself. Overall he had a good game, never stopped, he is a machine.

Don't think he had a great game, but fair play to him, even when he is poor he still produces a couple of assists (the second one was excellent).

Bout the best way I could put it. He infuriates me at times, but I'll be damned if he doesn't end up contributing at key moments. Fair play to him.

Agree with you here 100%.  Good cross on the goal that ended up being the winner, but he was rubbish apart from that.  Those corners were embarrassing.  Some will say "okay he didn't play well but he had the assists, that's all that matters."  Yeah well the problem is he won't always have those assists.  So what do you do when he plays sh*te and doesn't have the occasional good moment?

      Too soon mate

Let us enjoy it for a day at least.

Agree he shouldn't be the corner flag in a million years.

I think people over-estimate how many corners are actually scored. Its a tiny percentage - 2%. I don't really care if someone gives a bad corner - its the same as any other low percentage attempt that is played.

He wasn't rubbish though, was he? Sure the corners weren't great, but as per my earlier post, so what? Judging a player on corners is like judging their ability to score from over-head kicks. Their such low percentage attempts that it makes that particular skill fairly unimportant.

It doesn't really matter if he played sh*t or not, what matters he delivered that cross to earn us the winning goal.

      Well in Milner.

Oh do one. As usual you pop up to criticise where no criticism is just or qualified. And take your bullshit advice for like 'we need a town cryer in the stands' and 'the Kop should wear Timmy Mallett glasses' or whatever bullshit you come up with as suggestions to make Anfield louder (but we all know it's just an attempt to belittle the Anfield atmosphere and compare it to your home ground Stamford Bridge). Hope you had your ears tuned in last night because THAT was noise. That was Anfield. But you wouldn't know would you.

'Needs a Klopp hug'. More like 'Needs a Klopp punch'.

What he lacks in quality he makes up for in effort and stamina.

Pretty clear he should never play in CM again as its not fair on him, push him out wide and although he might not beat the opposing defender he can stick in a decent cross and he won't let his full back down, something Lallana can learn.
