It’s because he’s a reasonable player mate and hoping he gets a chance now to show his quality’s of a few years back.

Joes had a bit of a resurgence. He just needs to stay healthy and he’s a really good player.

Not Joe's biggest fan but he's done well this season and did well again for the most part last night. Fair play lad.

Hopefully he can continue that on when he's at centre back.

Nothing against Joe but I can't wait for Robbo to get back.

I actually like Joe at left back he has a bit of attacking threat too.

Joe has always been quality in general. He was guilty if the occasional brain fart, but who isn’t.
All Joe needs to get up to speed is a run if games. He’s getting that now, and looking dependable again 👍

He always has been and just as good as a CB

Excellent player to have in the squad

His lapses in concentration will stop him being a top centre back but you can get away with those errors at fullback. He's definitely come on a lot in terms of getting up the pitch as well.

I was a huge fan of Joe Gomez early on but was close to losing faith in him during his sporadic starts in the last couple of years.

Given a proper run in the team though, he's been class. Not the first time he's been quality at left back either - remember him playing there right after signing from Charlton and being brilliant. Unfortunately it wasn't long before his first major injury, if I recall it correctly.

Remember seeing this at the time, from 2015/16. And to think he's been here for so long and is still only 26!

I heard a surprising fact recently. Apparently Joe is the only player in the current squad who has been signed by a pre-Klopp manager. All the rest are Klopp signings or players who came through the youth system.

I'm not 100% certain that is true.

He's always been a quality player IMO but it was always going to take time to recover from the serious injuries he's had. Look at Virgil, even the best defender in the world has taken a long time to fully recover from the Pickford assault.

With Henderson and Firmino leaving it's true. They were the other none Klopp bought players.
