It's amazing the amount of people still calling for a 'proper striker' up front. Because scoring goals has been our biggest problem in recent seasons.

I still think there are a lotta cheap goals to be had in this team for him if he makes more near post runs

Mild obsession of mine as a coach - a dying art. If you watch we put lots of balls in that area but we rarely have a committed near post runner......

In general though - I said last week - I think he’s arguably the single most influential player in league.

I saw some stats in the RedCafe some weeks ago that Alexis Sanches was the most dispossessed player in the league. Dont know if its true. I think if you try an assist instead of playing safe it can happen.
Also i think if we demand the 9 to run like that he will not be fresh in front of the goal at some point of the season. Only Suarez can do that and still clinical.

I love Salah, but Bobby is my favorite player on the team. I just love his attitude and his game.

Has looked a bit jaded the last two game, some uncharacteristic mistakes and poor touch. Southampton game had a lot of attention from them, but still look a little bit off his best... Believe a little rest will sort that all out, or a couple of light training sessions if we cannot rest him before the Porto game

Agree on the rest but unfortunately we don't really have that luxury given the transfer windows just gone this season.

Spot on mate. Is there any other player in World Football that plays like Bobby does in the position he does? If so Jürgen needs to sign him up just in case (knock on wood) anything happens to our Bobby.

Yea few of us and yourself included got called and branded all sorts here when we made the case for him and not Benteke. Worlds apart now them 2 and this season has really enforced that. Benteke really is limited and some of the chances his missing week in and week out for Palace are almost comical.

We did. There was some stick flying around.

I could never understand why we even bought Benteke in the first place.

Love this guy. Not just for his considerable talent, or his energy, but for the fact that he is, above all, a team player. After missing the chance that led to Mane’s second, he didn’t sulk or seem to reflect for even a second but instead picked himself up and sprinted towards Mane with a massive smile on his face.

Nearest thing I've seen to Rushie the way he hassles, closes down defenders and wins the ball back for us.
