Our club was invited by my AFL club in Port Adelaide to yesterdays local derby against Adelaide where we unfortunately lost, but it was a beautiful thing, I was there in my Port scarf knowing I'd be at the same ground the next night in my Liverpool scarf, with the stadium full of red instead of the usual back and white and teal. Brendan Rodgers was in the Port coaches box (they sit up in the grandstand in a box, overseeing the whole oval, as opposed to a dugout) for this AFL game and he witnessed a cracker, I wonder how much he learns from witnessing the high pressure high steaks situation of our game.
My guess is like many others and based on the team we saw against Brisbane, I expect the likes of Bogdan, Lovren, Moreno, Allen to start - are we going all out with 'the kids' and giving Rossiter, Teixeira, Chrivella a start or the second half? I would love to see that, perhaps the crowd in Adelaide would be disappointed at not seeing 'the stars' but I would feel privileged to see a young team play first hand - I did go to the MCG a couple years ago though.
I really want to see Markovic and Ibe start and I think if that happened he'd put Ings between them. Pretty keen to continue watching these young players gel!
It's going to be very strange seeing a football pitch at the Oval! Going to feel so far away from the action!
