Should win this one, not as sure as I should be that we WILL win this one. I would probably take a point now if it was offered, as an early defeat may rattle our confidence before some of our players are up and running.

Not thrilled with our pre-season (would have preferred a little stronger opposition ) but maybe because we have such a difficult start to the season they have been working harder in training?

We don't seem to have much of defensive protection or a defence especially in the middle of the park so I think brentan is going for the keegan attack is the best form of defence approach unless o'driscoll can sort out our dodgy defending, especially from set-pieces, for which big ben should help immensely with his heading power.

I have been shortlisted for the season ticket holders role on the lfc supporters committee after 24 years in the kop, would really appreciate any votes, I hope I can do the fans proud.

      thanks all, Paul Wilcox.

Didn't you think all our woes defensively are because Agger isn't here? Milner, Can and Hendo are kind of a lot of defensive cover really so I'm not going to panic just yet. Them three are quite a formidable presence for differing reasons...
Milner/Hendo engine, can't think of a team with two non stop beasts like that playing next to eachother, they're quite similar so maybe the combination will be ideal.

I am sorry but where was he "schooled" there f**king ridiculous some people on here the lengths they would go through to push an agenda. Reading the top of the post without playing the gif I though I was going to see Henderson nutmeg him 7 times flick it over his head and finish with his cock.

When you play it you see a common and standard 1 on 1 training drill where the defender is asked to " jockey" the attacker not actually tackle him which Lovren does and puts a block in at the first attempt of a shot. Fail to see where any of this "schooling" comes to play, someone take me through it.

Going for a 2-0 win with Benteke scoring on his debut.

Stoke are going to get rag rolled.

Perhaps that 6-1 defeat is something everyone needed

Perhaps the sleeping giant has been awoken

Keep it tight and I think we nick this  by a goal

I know you should not read too much into 1 game, especially as we have a very unchallenging pre-season in terms of opposition, but I think this game and our attitude will show whether our manager and players are up for the job of playing for Liverpool. The 6-1 must be avenged no question.

If we lose then Br will satisfy the bookies odds of him going first

Completely forgot Glen Johnson signed with Stoke and will play his first match for them against us....until he opened his mouth!

      http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/glen-johnson-says-liverpool-fc-9818124

Nothing disrespectful but claiming he doesn't feel we've improved?!?!?!  If nothing else it's addition by his subtraction from our starting lineup at RB!!!  That alone means we've improved IMO, ;D

Glen has always had an over inflated view of himself, you could tell that by his playstyle. It ended as a joke, every time he got the ball he'd cut in on his left and try to blast it, the one trick pony comparison really would be an insult to the pony.

Absolutely gnawing at the bit for this to get underway, watching the Chavs and seeing the other updates and results made me feel almost hard done by that we have to wait an extra day.

As for Stoke I totally agree with Brendan this is a great fixture to be first but only on the condition we get a decent result, get a win and the exorcising the demon quotes etc etc will be tripped out, a bad result could conversely have an extremely negative effect on morale, so while it is only the first game and they generally don't carry too much weight ours could prove to be quite pivotal in terms of our mentality.

Win, it's that simple. This place will be a very happy place if we can get the 3 points, come on!!

5-0 at half time in our last PL game ... against Stoke. Still hard to believe ... had almost forgotten how bad it was (well, had bottled it up nice and tight!)... but was looking back at photos of SG trudging off after 45 mins, and it came back ... us being out of top4, SG in his last game, BR under pressure of his job, abject performance ... plus 6-1 hammering ... a perfect storm.

Just stick that result up on the wall, should get the blood pumping. For the players that were there, they MUST be aching to put it right. If anything, you'd think BR would need to try keep a lid on some of them, they'd be so hyped (well, hope so anyway).

Win, loose or draw, one result won't determine the season. But man, could really do with going there and putting in a good performance ... cauterize the wound ... get the 3 points.
Am really hopeful, moreso than confident.  CMON BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the skipper and vice are on the bench tomorrow I will platt Pxxs. Only debate is Lucas as DM or Coutinho . Surprised to see Gomez over Moreno would have been safer for him to stick with Moreno but Gomez obviously has impressed

Well you have to feel there are no excuses for tomorrow.

We are over the Post Traumatic Stress hangover of last season due to the 13/14 title challenge and Suarez's absence. If mistakes haven't been learnt for tomorrow, they never will - these new signing HAVE to perform and have to PLAY IN THE RIGHT POSITION. Benteke must show his his worth for that expensive price tag, and Henderson must take the bull by the horns as captain - that is the least we expect from a Liverpool captain.

This is make or break for many many people at the club for manager and players - in particular last seasons signings. Again, no excuses, they've had a year to bed in - it's time for everyone to show their proof.

The pressure is massive, the team need to give us a win and give us something to shout about after what has seemed like a wilderness period for 6 months.

Even if we don't win, all i want to see is some fight in the lads, some desire to keep on pushing and battling for every ball. Not the complete lack of belief they showed in the last season's final weeks.

I just cant see anything other than a win for us and a good one at that. Last season was weird and complicated this is a new team with no hangovers no Luis or Stevie dominating the news just 11 men in RED. Lets remember this is Stoke we should go there and give them a lesson in football. 4=1 for me.
