We are not creating the chances, let alone scoring from many of them. We have players for what ever reason not firing at present. And yes I to mentioned that this would not be an easy game, and Yes we fielded a weaken side, but what if we were facing more capable opposition yes today, sides that were not struggling for form at present... Yes at full strength we may well have put 3 or more past them, but we too are struggling to find form, and with injuries to plays we will be extremely luck to go a full season with out sum major injuries not occurring to key players, and what we have as back up is struggling now, and lack game time...
The three points is welcomed, but we need to get creative following supply to the front three and bring in some real quality in the next window, and in the meantime pray we do not lose a key player to long term injury
We've just blown 200 million quid on quality players, 50 million of it sitting on the bench scratching himself every week, because apparantly he "hasn't adapted" to our style yet, or aka "he isn't good enough". How much more real quality should we bring in?
We're now winning the 1-0's people said we couldn't last year. And they were right, but they still complain about it now. When we blow teams away in 20 minutes, they say we can't do it every week. Now when we win 1-0, they say we can't do it every week. Wtf are we supposed to do? Jürgen said before Game 1 that winning the league was about winning 5 games 1-0 than 1 game 5-0. And he's right.
We had to win at Huddersfield. The performance was poor, but I expected it to be difficult. First game after the break, couple of days prep, several injuries, no win in 4 games, away from home, opposition's cup final, busparking tactics, etc. All the ingredients were in place for a king size fuc up, and this was apparently one of our "easier" games. We got the job done. We all want a bit more sure, but that's all we have to do right now, get the job done. Keep in touch with the leaders until the next break, then kick on after it, up to City away where the games come one after the other, and there are 25-30 points up for grabs.
We're a team designed to get circa 90 points now. We're almost a third of the way there, and we're way ahead of where we were 12 months ago. It's depressing seeing City hockey teams every week, but they'll have to win games 1-0 down the line.
The reverse fixture is in 6 months time. If we do our stuff before then, it could be a gift home banker for us at a time we really need it, or if we're really lucky, a fixture that allows us to finally reach the top of the mountain.
