Benteke is part of the problem. We have seen quite clearly over the last season that we do not really function as a side WITHOUT genuine pace, movement and mobility up front. That is the reason so many were against signing the big man in the first place. Plenty shouted it down.

Maybe the next manager will be able to get e best out of this lot.

But Benteke has pace, and skill, and intelligence.

He is simply left isolated by the slowness of the players behind him.

Lucas, Can, Milner, there's no pace in our midfield. Henderson is head and shoulders our best midfielder and he's not exactly world class.

We have hardly any pace in our team and that's Rodgers fault.

Honestly can't stomach watching such horrific performances against our most hated rivals. I can't believe how little the current crop of players fight for the club and our supporters.

Benteke's goal was absolute class. For a brief moment there, it looked like we might have hope of grabbing something from a game in which we were a shambles. But the excitment got to the players, and the lead up to the Martial goal was all poor from our players. Mistakes, and then Skrtel lost his head, allowing Martial to stroll past and beat Mignolet 1v1.

Still.. some LFC fans think that was a brilliant goal and loved it.

They loved to see our team concede another goal, and put a quick end to our hope.

No manager will resign from a big club in this day and age.  If he resigns he loses all the bonuses and compensation he's entitled to.

He received it in an isolated position, drove twoards our goal beating three defenders closing in on him, diddled Skrtel, kept his composure to slot it past Mig.

On his debut when his team were rocking on their heels - in teh biggest game of the season.
