Liverpool 1-1 Carlisle AET (3-2 on pens): In game and Post Match WTF was that?
      Sep 23, 2015 06:59:36 pm

      Anfield evening

Starting XI: Bogdan, Clyne, Skrtel, Lovren, Moreno, Can, Milner, Allen, Lallana, Firmino, Ings

Subs: Fulton, Coutinho, Gomez, Origi, Brannagan, Ibe, Rossiter

Danny Ings leads the line for Liverpool and Adam Bogdan makes his debut in goal for the League Cup clash with Carlisle United at Anfield this evening.

A strong starting XI will tackle the League Two outfit, with Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana also fielded in attack and Martin Skrtel making his 300th appearance for the club.

Joe Allen returns to the midfield after injury and James Milner continues to captain the side in the absence of Jordan Henderson.

First thoughts... Lovren. No Sakho.. at all.

      One striker again. No Sturridge.

      Is this the actual team???

I think Firmino is playing as a 2nd striker.

Back to 4-3-3? Even up against Carlisle, I don't see the point in persisting with this failed formation.

Anyhow, hope to see Danny Ings bang in a few tonight.

Disapointed to see Origi and Rossiter on the bench, would rather they'd have started than Lallana and Milner. Also think it would have been a good time to see Gomez at CB.

Going to be optimistic and despite Dejan "The Disaster" Lovren playing, will go for a 2-0 win.

Think we may go 4-4-2 with a diamond... but then again I am a natural optimist :)

Does that suggest he's feeling the heat I wonder?

So if we keep a clean sheet today, does that mean that Lover has "earned" his place into the first XI again?

      Skrtel's playing.

Must be opting for a weak side tonight then...

I know it's against Carlisle United (who we should beat...should) but must we have to put up with Skrtel and Lovren again? We'd be better off putting two scarecrows in there. They make the Chuckle Brothers look strongly competent.
