So, just finished watching the game. First thing I'd like to do is applaud their back line and keeper, it was excellent, a little last ditch at times and inspired at times as well. It's something I wish we, as a fan base, would do more often, praise the opposition, when they deserve it.
On to our lot, as a team tonight, we were a collective seven, I think you could mark a couple of players down as sixes, but I don't think a player deserved higher than a seven. As an aside, Milner isn't one I thought was a 6.
I do think that a few players do need to be talked about though, starting with our full backs. Clyne, after a little dip, is making that spot his own, gets up and down that touchline superbly and Moreno, he is starting to look like a footballer. If these two start adding some end product, some better crosses and to be fair both had a couple of decent ones tonight, mouthwatering doesn't begin to cover it. Ibe had a performance that could be the making of him, it wasn't spectacular, but it was industrious and showed a huge jump in form in a short space of time. The fact that this was against a highly rated left back does him no harm either. Finally, though I think we could talk about positives for all our players, I'd like to talk about something that isn't so positive, concerning Joe Allen. In no way did he have a bad game, but on quite a few occasions, he left us open by pressing on his own, leaving gaps and more than once, I saw Klopp, on my stream, castigate Allen for this, clearly telling him not to solo press. Whether this was Allen being over eager and wanting to impress or him just not getting how Klopp wants him to play, it's something he has going to have to sort out quickly. For me, this team performance was even better than against Chelsea.
