Yeah I understand that mate, and to be honest I haven't seen a whole lot of Grujic, but apart from the League Cup last season (Spurs I think?) when he got an assist if I'm not mistaken, he hasn't really impressed me much. If he played as our DM I think we'd be even worse defensively.
Don't get the calls for him to play either. So far he has only looked promising in friendlies. He has looked very average in every cup game / league game I've seen him play in. Too erratic, too many unnecessary fouls. Not writing the lad off of course, he has everything to become a really good player, just has to cut out the little moments of madness. Throwing him in our current midfield would only make matters worse I think.
Have you watched him in the U23's playing in the no 6 role mate?
He sure looks a player to me.
What have we got to lose at this stage we're a mess as it is we'll be out of the top 4 race soon if we continue as we're going why not give him a game or two to show his worth?
I did watch him for U23's yesterday and was pretty surprised to see him in the #6 role. I think under Klopp that's where his future is. I don't see him as an #8 in our midfield. Big difference being that he clearly just bossed the United players around because of how big and strong he is, he doesn't have that advantage when playing in the PL. As Diego said, it'd be stupid to put the young lad in as a #6 in the first team. His positioning still needs a lot of work and that's one of the main issues in the current midfield. Putting him there won't solve anything. Plus he's a card magnet, you can't have that as a #6 in our system. I agree that he does look a player though, he's still very raw and young, but a lot of very positive things about his overall play (great passing range from deep, good shot, natural tackler, ...)
