Having watched footy for two and a half decades, I've got to say this current Villa side is comfortably one of the worst I've seen. It actually amazes me that they've managed to amass 16 points. A club fighting for their lives and they didn't put an ounce of effort in. The fans are sh*t to. One of these so called "big" teams who can't even sell out the ground when things are going bad. Horrible supporters.

And due to how f**king sh*te they are, they made it extremely easy for us.

But f**k me did we take advantage of it. We were f**king boss. We tore Villa apart time and time again. Knocking them for six with six different goalscorers. And this twatting is exactly what we've needed. We've been sh*t in recent weeks, so a confidence booster like this is more than very welcomed. The important thing now though is to build on this. Don't let this be the highlight, let this be the start of something very special.

After a belting Saturday night in the local boozers (including taking the piss out of a blue in a 86 Cup final shirt in Ye Cracke) and finally getting with Katie, a lovely Sunday roast dinner, still trying to get me head round that snooker on ITV4 and the disappointment of England yet again breaking me heart in the cricket. The most important thing this weekend went without a hitch, Liverpool Football Club won!

Mignolet - it's unfair to judge Simple Simon tonight because he might as well had a seat in the Holte End and added to the capacity because he did f**k all in goal. Villa didn't test him bar the very odd shot - one of which he still managed to fumble. Oh Simon! But f**k it, give the f**ker a big pat on the back for that clean sheet. Best performance from him all season.

Clyne - has steadily gone about his business for most of the season with the odd dip in form here and there but he's probably been our best performer over this slightly dodgy period. Today, he was quality again. Solid, dependable and getting on the scoresheet. Well in Nath lad.

Toure - remains the cult hero. Don't know why but I always laugh every time he's on the ball, love it when he goes on his mazy runs. Even his goal looked untidy but a goal's a goal. First for Liverpool. Becoming the 438th Liverpool goalscorer in the process.

Sakho - can't help himself can he? First ten minutes, doing his backheel. And can he end an attack without being on his arse? But, like the rest of the defence, he had f**k all to do all game so give him a massive pat on the back.

Moreno - poor Albert cops a lot of flack but he done alright today. It wasn't an outstanding performance but given his recent outings, this was probably an outstanding performance. A pat on his back is coming his way to.

Milner - now we get into the disappointing third of the pitch. Milner scored a goal but did very little else. Another huffing and puffing performance but everything about him just looks average. Still he out performed his other central midfielders today. His fifth Liverpool goal takes him level with Jamie Carragher, Bruno Cheyrou, Davey Thompson, Nicolas Anelka and Joe Cole - among others.

Henderson - sorry Jordy lad, I've always given you the benefit of the doubt and convinced meself that there's a player in you somewhere. Today though, in a game where you had the freedom of the pitch, you delivered f**k all. A complete waste of a shirt today. And that's not acceptable from a Liverpool captain.

Can't - today convinced me of nothing other than he really is the look-a-like of Sal of Impractical Jokers. Another sh*t performance, topped though by a very well taken goal. Fancy that eh, a central midfielder having a pop from about 20 yards out. Apart from that though, he was on a par with Henderson.

Firmino - is getting a lot love tonight and I'll actually praise the lad because he done a lot of unfashionable work today. Hard graft and a lot of end product. I don't think he excelled with his general play but around the box he really shone. Get him in the gym though and get a bit of meat on him because too often he's just knocked off the ball.

Coutinho - is back and back to his best. I've been very critical of Phil this season for being invisible too often but not today, he was boss. Now he has to do it every single week because one good game in five isn't good enough for Liverpool Football Club.

Sturridge - if nothing else, the fella knows how to score goals and dance. The two go hand in hand and there are few sights better in football than seeing our Danny jigging away in his Liverpool shirt. Excellent header and just a welcome sight to have him back.

Origi - copped a lot stick from me in the early months of the season but I'll give him a big well done today. Chased lost causes, worked his bollocks off and took his chance very well. I liked the smell of what Di Vock is cookin'

Stewart - I actually don't remember the lad doing anything today unfortunately. So much so I've just had to check who our second sub was. But for his Premiership debut, no f**k ups.

Benteke - the poor f**ker. Everybody is scoring, chances galore. Chrissy comes on and not a sniff.

F**k me lad, I thought we played well, but based on your ratings each player sounded like the Villa team!

We did play well collectively. Individually though, every player had faults. And I always look for the ways our players can improve.

Am on holiday for half term with the kids and Mrs in deepest Dorset so didn't see it, what a brilliant result though! Just goes to show what a difference it makes when our best players are available, and I am convinced that Sturridge in particular transforms us as a team. I know Villa are poor, but 6-0 away in the Premiership is a fantastic performance whoever you're playing against. The players and manager deserve huge credit.

One thing though from reading the match thread. All this having a wee pop at Benteke who was on the bench, each time a striker bangs one in? Really? This is a very odd collection of fans sometimes, really strange. Anyways a great win and exactly what we needed before the cup final.

I'll put my hand up here.

Having a pop at Benteke when Origi races clear and slots one past the keeper isn't odd really.
More like the sight of Origi doing what a proper striker should, and at Liverpool we've seen quite a few of those,
brings on flashbacks of Benteke in the cup.

It's great to see Origi, Sturridge, Coutinho & Firmino running rampant today.
It reminds me of how good this Liverpool team can be with real attacking threat.

You can only beat what is put infront of you and boy did we do that.

Especially happy with no brain dead stupidity on show. Everyone put in a great shift.

Coutinhos magic, Firminos Brilliance, Studges Finishing, Origis Energy - We could be on to something if we can just keep this lot fit.

Amazing to see what a bit of confidence does - ran through the team like a wave of viagra passing over the lot of them after Studges finish..... "See lads, its piss easy to finish, you can do it too"

Some of the passing was class....

Now do the same again next week and we can celebrate.... City showed us that this once off sh*t is nothing to get overly excited about - even though I fall for it everytime.

As for Henderson, I'm hardly his biggest fan but he's another who's being treated waaay too harsh by our fans. I'm sure from watching him that he's still suffering with his plantar fiscitis, and having had it meself I can tell you it's f****** agony. He isn't a world class central midfielder, but he is a lot better than he's currently showing. He's taking one for the team I'm convinced of it, and he doesn't deserve his own fans getting on his back.

Would love to sell him in the summer and start fresh in that position.

It is mate. You see, you and others have made those statements based on said player scoring against Aston Villa who have many times in this thread been called the worst Premier League team ever.

Kolo scored. Are you going to tell me that also shows that Kolo is better at headers than Benteke?

Benteke didn't get a turn to see if he also could score against the worst team like 6 of his team mates. As far as I could see, from the time he came on, we didn't even have a single attacking threat to the end of the game? Nothing happened. Benteke cannot be judged on that brief cameo, and effectively, he didn't get a chance today.

Maybe, just maybe, Benteke would have scored today if given the chance. Heck, he may even have raced clear and slotted one past the keeper.  ;)

Who cares if he can or cant score against the worst team in the league? I want him to be able to score against the other 18. and for 32m I want him to be able to score against them all twice. ;-)

Well now that you mention it.  >:D

      It's not odd though.
It's not odd for fans to remember another striker missing an opportunity in a similar situation only a few days ago.
      It's a F***ing raw nerve.

You know deep down Benteke would not have been able to get away from the defenders, in fact he would more than likely have  stepped on the ball and fallen over such is his confidence at the moment.

What he needs is someone to lay on a tap in for him however with the injured players returning his game time is going to be severely reduced.

      Difficult situation for Benteke.

      :lmao:

As for trying to drag Origi down to Benteke's level, Origi scored his 1v1 and Benteke didn't, that's the facts you can't escape from. Without him in the side we had something like 10 chances and put 6 away, on his own last game he missed 9, most of them easier than what we put away today.

Unless we're changing the name of the club to Benteke Football Club it would be a good idea to start supporting those that are going to take us forward not asking for those that are clearly dragging us down to come back into the fold. He needs to work his way in rather than be gifted it and right now there's no chance of that because we finally have options.

      Sturridge
      Firmino
      Origi
      Benteke

Get Ings back and he's 5th choice after coming in for £32.5m, if the level of failure needs describing any more than that then you just prove how you struggle to understand once more.

Today was all about a successful team that worked well together, who complimented each other well and above all beat a team better than any other team in the league has managed this season. Those underselling the achievement we managed today are not surprising who they are.

Aston Villa 0 - 6 Liverpool is a reason to be F***ing delighted, cheers LFC!!

Good performance good win. Great to see Sturridge and Coutinho back, who was my MOTM with his vision and sublime passes.

Probably one of the worst sides I have seen, this Villa lot. Every goal scored was aided by their incompetence.

And I thought we had difficulties, they're doomed to relegation.

To a man they are all better than they have been showing and the moment you put a proper star on the top of the tree they all look better players.

Never really had an axe to grind with them.

But I did read a Q&A pre-match oppo talk between them and us a few years back, and well, the fans on their forum and the answers they gave led me to believe they have got to be the most depressing fans in the country.

I'd like to see Sunderland and Newcastle go not keen on either of them, and those inbred cu*ts Norwich I could happily wave off too.

EDIT: Just seen the league table for about the first time in 5 months (haven't been able to bare the f**ker for most of the season) and Leicester and Spuds are right up there! Fingers crossed Spurs don't win it! Jesus, we've missed a trick this year.  :(

Still buzzing after our win. The different feeling tonight after weeks of miserable results and little threat from our forwards is amazing.

Just waiting to watch it again on m.o.t.d. which is something I have been avoiding recently.

6 Goals and a clean sheet... what's to complain about?
