what a night and we had 11 players who all knew there jobs and they all did them well. How good is Lovren now my God he is a completely different player than just 6months ago and Can is going to be simply world class.
They were a brilliant team tonight and they should enjoy this moment our first final for 9 years we are back where we belong
Has improved in leaps and bounds, but still capable of a bad game,(Swansea) But for me it was Can or Lovern for MOTM, Can just edged it

Come one Walt, he is God after all. You better not say any more about him. ;)

doesn't give him the right to piss on the parade, my God Can has just returned to training and puts in a performance like that and he says no outstanding performances Lovren was superb Firmino a magician and Daniel has got his love for football back again Kolo was inspirational Milner covered every blade of grass on the pitch and Mignolet kept a clean sheet.

Dirty f**ker still tried to clip his leg and grab his shirt tails after he was left in the shadows, that's what they were doing all night with their lack of skill and attempts to slow the game down.
      Off you pop wankers.

Great team performance! Never in doubt.
I thought Firmino, Lovren and Milner were top class and Emre Can was my MOTM for bossing that midfield the way he did.
Another European final for this great club to look forward to!!

Wow. What a performance. To be honest, I was expecting things to be much more difficult than they were. I was surprised to see Villarreal play two up top, I thought they would have two walls of five and we would be in for a very long night of trying to break them down. I've got to say though, we were just fantastic from the first whistle. We wanted it much more than they did, fought for every ball, won every second ball, won every 50-50, played some great stuff. Thoroughly deserved.

I've been critical of our league campaign this season and I still believe we could be a lot further up the table and some of our results/performances have been dire at times, but to reach two cup finals in your first year is some achievement so well done Jürgen and the lads - especially when you consider the injury crisis we have had to deal with all season too.

The atmosphere was yet again brilliant last night and there seems to be a real buzz around the place again. Jürgen is taking us places. I'm just a F***ing made up red today. It feels like WE'RE F***ing BACK.

Mignolet - Had very little to do but made 2 or 3 important stops. 7/10

Clyne - Same old same old from clyney. Solid defensively but sometimes out of ideas when going forward. Did his job. 7/10.

Lovren - on current form the best CB in the league. He has come on leaps and bounds under Jürgen. Solid last night and made 3-4 crucial tackles, one in particular on the half way line in the first half, shortly before milner slipped in lallana who missed a sitter!  8/10

Toure - Defended well throughout. Organised throughout. 7/10.

Moreno - Out of position a couple of times again. Made a couple of rash tackles too. Perhaps could have given a penalty away which would have left us in the sh*t. That said he was good going forward, won some tackles, linked up well at times. There is a player in him somewhere but sometimes his inexperience just shows. 6/10.

Milner - Thought it was a good display from James. A captains display. Led by example and never stopped running. 7/10

Can - Completely bossed the midfield in the first half and strolled the second half. Great to have him back. 8/10.

Coutinho - Thought our magician played well, always moving and looking to get on the ball. We are always a threat with him about. 8/10.

Firmino - My motm. He was everywhere. Worked his bollocks off, linked up well, showed off his quality with some touches/passes and that turn in the second half was just football porn. 9/10.

Lallana - Again worked his bollocks off and it was nice to see him get on the score sheet. 8/10

Sturridge - I was desperate for him to start pre match and he showed yet again why he needs to play in these big games. Great goal to make it 2-0. He missed a couple of good chances but i'll forgive him - its better than he was in the right place at the right time to take those chances rather than being nowhere to be seen. We are always better going forward and much more of a threat with him on the pitch. 8/10.

I thought that to win we would need some outstanding performances and we certainly got those. We played with passion, resolve and such pace that we simply blew Villarreal away.

Delighted with the way we played, delighted with the result and delighted to be in another European final.

Of course I did say we would win 3-0 before the game, so no surprises really :D

Same team again for the final ?

      Still absolutely buzzing!

No team in the world could have stopped us winning - it was that good a performance.

Repeat it in 12 days and we'll win the first trophy of many under Jürgen.

People turned up when I wanted to follow the match on here aswell as watch it, missed out on the mayhem :( but :) I didn't have to go through a million emotions watching the game because we were so professional. Glad for the club and everyone here. I'm in the process of reading through everything I missed.

Feeling great this morning, well done boys.
Is this our 20th European final?

We take this for granted as a club in England. Not many other teams can boast this type of record or European pedigree.

I wanted all our focus to be the Europa since we made it out the group stage and the team haven't disappointed.

Plus we have knocked out some really strong teams on the way.

      I am buzzing

So, it's the morning after the night before and it still feels just as good to be going to another European final and we don't have to wait very long for it, either.

If we can replicate last night's effort against Sevilla, we will blow them away and win the cup.

When we qualified for the CL under Brendan, I and it seems many others too, didn't give us much chance of doing well. Before the draw, I thought we would do well to get out of the group stage, such was the distance we had fallen behind since Rafa's days as manager and those two CL finals in three seasons. This time is different, however, and it's down to the new manager and the impact he is having at our club. Of course, there is a transfer window and a full pre-season to come before next season's competition begins and we have to qualify of course by beating Sevilla, but without being cocky or arrogant, I think we will.
