Is this going to delay his comeback or is it still looking like Mid September?

3 weeks after having the wires out.

So excited to see this lad line up in goal. Is there anyone out there who isn't expecting him to be our first choice?

I'd imagine so but then again I have no knowledge about the recovery time of a broken arm.

Supposedly the second best german keeper behind Neuer, so yeah I think he's good (haven't seen him play much)

More than likely way better than Mignolet, although I disagree with your last statement.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a start against Derby - might make sense to ease him in that way with Mignolet gradually being phased out.

If he can well and truly establish himself as number one (and really, the bar isn't set that high), then Mignolet's career is over. Given that Huddersfield fans are raving about Danny Ward - just like how Aberdeen fans were doing similar a year ago - we can see young Danny taking his spot on the bench.

But it begs the question - will Danny be too good for the bench? It's often the case we've always struggled with keepers but never had an issue with a quality backup. I hope Ward stays on - I like his attitude and he just seems more 'ballsy' than Mignolet.

I haven't seen much of Ward tbh but if he is as good as everyone says he is and Karius is also as good as we hope then I can't see Ward warming the bench. They're both the same age so Ward is going to go looking for first team football.

Second best behind Neuer? Nah, that's ter Stegen. And not far behind are the likes of Leno, Trapp, Fahrmann and Horn. A lot of good German keepers at the moment.

Pretty surprised that he had a wire removed from his hand and a couple of days later he's out there saving shots.  I know they get paid shed loads of money, and I know that the clubs want them available all the time but they are still made out of the same stuff as the rest of us.

Hope he isn't rushed back - especially not after that injury.  It's not like he was out with a twisted ankle.

I agree totally with JD, we should not rush him. He needs to get his confidence back from saving with his ex-broken hand. Let Simon play today's game and blueshit next friday and then play Loris in the cup against Derby.

F**k that, I would rather we have our best goalkeeper in place against Chelsea, because you just know they'll get a few shots on target!

But Karius looks like he meant it... the illusion of confidence! :D

My own persona opinion was the he would be introduced against Derby and barring an absolute nightmare he would keep his spot, the fixtures look relatively generous for a few weeks to be him in. I think dropping him in against Chelsea as his first competitive game may have been a bit much.
