So possibly yet another example of a Liverpool player who wanted a new "challenge" and left what was a really good situation for one where the only challenge will be proving that it wasn't the Liverpool setup that made him great.

I don't care...but I'm curious why this ex player generates interest on this forum. I'll have a stab at an answer, which go's along the lines of many think his departure has massively influenced Our poor (relatively) start to the season. I don't subscribe to that view, one player can't account for so many of the current players collective drop in form.

Could very well one of the reasons, feel like a player as popular as Mane combined with playing for another top club will attract more attention than other players.

Anytime a player who either been here a while or is key contributor does garner more interest. No different when Gini/Phil left though the tone was much more of "relishing in their struggles" based on the terms they left the club as oppose to Mane thus far.

My bad what I meant was reason. Different reasons why a player leaves the club can dictate how supporters view the player and combine that with the players status within the club and talent can affect how much attention they get from supporters.

I get your point about the players profile, but all those players wanted to leave Liverpool. For me once they're one they're gone...I can just about remember Keegan leaving.... thee again, Kenny coming in softened the loss!

Correct. This is a team with 11 players and 1 of them alone isn’t going to have such a drastic impact.

Heck, last January when both he AND Salah left for afcon we had a very good month.

Not sure why Mane's post Liverpool career is so closely followed. He was a major contributor to Our recent success but he wanted to leave, so he left, for me that was the end of my interest. As for the prospects of Bayern M. or their manager, I couldn't give a proverbial toss.

Just finished 2nd in the 2022 Ballon d'Or. As Benzema's win was never in doubt, this is a fine reward after an amazing year with us and his national team.

He was also awarded the newly created Socrates award, which is apparently "given in recognition of the best social initiatives carried out by committed champions". Pretty vague but he was basically rewarded for all the charity work he does in Senegal. Good on him.
