England are at my home country Malta, there will be huge support for both teams because we still love the British culture.

      Come on Malta!

One nil, over the US,  nice. If we win today we're almost in the WC.

Good win.Find it hard to understand how poor the yanks have been.Piss easy qualifying yet there's still a chance they might F**k up and miss out.

Slightly off topic, but to ensure that the grounds have the right capacity, here is a solution.... well sort of.

They're playing really bad but will probably will Ecuador and get at least 5th. Gotta thank Paraguay for beating Colombia.

What are you laughing it? Peru are 12th in the world... 0-0 is not terrible is you make out.
Argentina have Equador next and Peru have Columbia.
if Peru and Argentina win it is Columbia who will miss out.
The only way I Argentina are not getting through is if Peru beat Columbia and Argentina don't beat Equador.
Personally I think Argentina and Columbia will qualify.
Who ever finishes 5th will be too much for New Zealand.

What makes a mockery of the rankings is Spain, Italy, Columbia and France looking likely to be in pot 2 with England.
Poland and Switzerland in pot 1.....
I hope we can get Switzerland in the draw.

Argentina are in danger of missing a first World Cup since 1970, in 48 years.

Just the whole struggle is hilarious. If they have to play New Zealand it will be shameful to them.
Peru are horrible. It's a country with 0 players in the Champions League. Even Haiti has one.

Was reading yesterday that it has been almost a year since a player other than Messi scored a goal in a qualifier match for Argentina (I think it was against Colombia).

I still believe they'll qualify since Ecuador have nothing to play for and agree with Diego about Peru, can't believe they're are about to qualify for the WC (and 12 in the ranking, although that raking means nothing), if I remember correctly they were bottom 3-4 not so long ago, but good for them it's been almost 35 years since their last WC and their is a huge change that they can qualify and Chile will be out of it which will be even sweeter for them.

Yes, they've gone on a good run lately and all of a sudden find themselves in one of the qualifying spots. One of my best friends in the UK was a Peruvian and I remember laughing at how seriously he took the qualifiers last year, for I thought at the time they had absolutely no chance of making it to the WC. Seems he was right to believe in his team then. Still, they're a VERY limited side, an Argentinian team that played well together should have demolished them at the Bombonera.

Final round of the qualifiers will be CRAZY, I don't even know which match I want to watch. I made very good Colombian and Peruvian friends last year so I'm hoping they'll both qualify, but given they play each other, it might be difficult. I just hope Ecuador will do the whole of South America a huge favour ;D

Also, Paraguay may look a bit far behind but they play Venezuela at home and should beat them comfortably, so they're a huge threat to the likes of Peru and Colombia as well.

I don't know if you follow the youth game in South America Diego but I remember listening to Tim Vickery on the BBC World Football Phone In a couple of years back and he said the future looked bleak for Argentina on account that their youth squads have no real noticeable prospects to get excited about. That was then so things might have changed for the better (I have no idea) but if Vickery's right and they miss out this year then they could be set to miss out on the World Cup after that as well. Seems their fortunes aren't too dissimilar from the Dutch.

Yet they are 12th in the world, not that FIFA rankings are without problems, but they can't be absolutely as bad as you are making them out to be.
