Well actually Riba, FIFA rankings mean sh*t. For example, Costa Rica is 20-22 and have been between 15-24 (or something like that) since the last WC, finished the WC 8th and no, Costa Rica was not the 8th bet team in the world as it is not the 22nd now so you shouldn't rate Peru based on that, nor a single game in the Copa America.

Peru are not that great to be honest, they almost lost to Colombia in Peru, and would have if it hadn't been for Ospina (who is sh*t by the way). Good for them that they qualified, the same for Panama, but they were not the best teams, for example Chile is better than Peru and did not qualify, the same way the US are better than Panama (and both are way up in the rankings).

this is quite sensible. I agree Peru aren't as good as fifa rankings make out, but the rankings do give some indications. I understand that they aren't that great, but they aren't that terrible either. Whilst they won't win anything anytime soon, it's a bit over the top to call them rubbish. I'd say Belarus, Luxembourg,  San Marino, Gibraltar ... Etc rubbish teams. France 0 - 0 Luxembourg was shocking, Peru 0 - 0 Argentina is disappointing for Argentina but not out of the ordinary. Reason I was defending Peru was because whilst not great, they aren't terrible. If they were, Chile, who probably are better, would be in the world cup.

Diego called out Rib, Rib got hurt feelings so he’s trying to one up Diego. Peru sucks balls but hey at least they qualified...my country did not. Did I miss anything else?

It is just pure luck they did great in qualification and got results against some of the best teams in the world.

Yeah, because that's exactly what I said... grow up (and watch some football)

Afterall, you watched those games with Peru in so that means much more than the results.

You seem obsessed with results (perhaps because that's pretty much the only information you have on Peru) but keep ignoring that, based on match results only, Peru would be 7th.

If they were, Chile, who probably are better, would be in the world cup.

Chile would indeed be playing New Zealand if they hadn't initiated a complaint about Bolivia using an irregular player during the competition.

You've now posted 11 times about Peru, a team you've admittedly never watched in your life. :D

      Not really!

Except that Peru haven't qualified yet, but hopefully they will by beating New Zealand.

Chile lost to Bolivia and they also had a match declared 3-0 victory for Bolivia fielding an ineligible player.

Anyone see the penalty awarded to Switzerland today? Shockingly unfair to Northern Ireland, especially given how important the match was.

Still, Switzerland were so much better in this game, it wouldn't seem fair for the home team to get a result. Is that they way they played to get to the playoff (Northern Ireland I mean)?

At least in the pub you'll have had some beer. I watched it at home.
Decent result away from home for TBIG, Denmark maybe deserved to scrap a win, just, but couldn't manage it.
As a football match, it was carnage, long balls, set pieces, pratically no passages of play ... but guess if you want flowing football, kick a ball into a river.  Its about qualifying, sets it up for a big night on Tuesday...

Sweden through and showed a masterclass in bus parking! Crazy how Insigne was ignored too.

Saw most of the second half, I thought we had trouble breaking down bus parkers!!
Sweden defended well, but thought Italy really lacked any quality up front, as well as good service from the back.
First time not at a WC for over 50 years or something.
