Spurs losing to West Ham 1-0. If they keep this up then our draw doesn't really cost us much.

really needed the three points. its games like this that we need to get that win

      imo sturridge shouldve started.

we also need to find a way to beat the bus.  the longer it takes for us to score, the stronger their defense becomes.  we shouldve started guns blazing and get that early goal quick

Said before the game I would have rested Coutinho and played Sturridge and didn't see anything to suggest I was wrong. The performance was to be expected and the result not entirely out of the ordinary since Chelsea are the only club to win at Saint Mary's this year apparently. We aren't going to win every game so I'll take a point so long as we win the next game. Matip MOTM.

This tean with suarez and the league title would be won. As it is, going to be some excruciating games like that 1 because Southampton won't be the last team to park the bus against us.

Got to bury your chances when they come. We got in the end what our finishing deserved.

Aye shall we add Pele, Maradona and Messi while we're adding in players we don't have?

We better win the next game,Sunderland and Moyes at Anfield. We will kill them.!!Back to Southampton,we did not get the 3 points but the bonus was not getting beat and a clean sheet as well.

Charmer aren't you, bet you're a hoot at parties.

All I know is if I'd paid money to see that from a team I supported I wouldn't have been happy.

Fonte came out saying the same. Said they were nowhere near good enough and that they were lucky it wasn't 3 or 4.

I would say we failed to finish off our chances as we had made plenty of them...my  was not knowing his mother played professional footie.

She doesn't, that's why the miss was so shocking.

Sturridge and Origi up front today = 3 pts.

Real missed opportunity. Especially with Chelsea going top tomorrow.

What I meant was, it's not a fact that we'd have won 3 points if Sturridge & Origi both started instead of those two. You're just making random assumptions that have no meaning.

Of course we will drop points but I'd rather drop them in games where we don't perform and have a serious off day. Not a game where I know we should have won and missed a sitter.

Fair way of looking at it.

I don't think there's any reason to be downhearted.  The mood among some on here says a lot about our tendency to feel vulnerable despite being at the top, and with two thirds of the season left.  Its a hangover from 'nearly seasons' of years gone by, maybe.  Remember '13/14? We didn't put a run of great performances together til after Xmas, but this year we've been on it since August apart from a blip or two.

Although we outplayed them, and had chances to kill it stone dead, it's still a good point won in what looked a tricky away fixture - and after another damned international break (our best creative players looked jet-lagged at times).  After the last one we came back and had a bore draw with the Manure, then went ballistic in the following games.  We'll be back in our stride next match, I'll bet, just like last time.

Stay positive my fellow reds!  The guy in charge certainly is.

My only criticism would be, Herr Klopp - surely we should have seen Daniel on ten minutes earlier?

We don't have Suarez. He's long gone. We score plenty of goals without him nowadays anyway. Such a pointless comment.

It wasn't really meant to be taken seriously, but whatever. Pointless, yet true.

We need the goals when it's 0-0 and while Firmino is trying to emulate Luis with his outside of the boot finishes, Luis would have buried it and we'd be loving life.

My wider point is that I think we could do with someone like Sturridge if its nkt going to be Sturridge. Someone who will get the goal from 1 chance when it matters.

At the moment I reckon Firmino, Couts and Mane with get 15, 15 and 10. We are asking players to get us enough goals to win a league, who don't get that volume of goals usually.

If Sturridge isn't the man then we need to find a striker who is. Luis definitely nt coming back, but there are other players out there that work hard and score 20+.

With teams sitting deeper against us we need to take chances and it would sit better with me if it was a striker on the end of them rather than all the falsies we have running about.

This is whining on high ground, but football-philosophically I'd prefer a more agggressive "stochastic" approach where you go for the goal almost always directly, no matter what, kind of pure kick 'n' rush. This should result in less ball possession, but more high-value chances and more chances per game which should increase goal-rates per game longterm. Actually, Klopp played that style with Dortmund at the beginning and in his prime there. But nowadays he seems to follow the mainstream that supports ball possession football. I guess because it is more economical and efficent longterm?!?

Anyway, we dominated, we had 2-3 real good chances, could have won, didn't lose by bad luck or bad moment. Like Jürgen said in his presser: I am not happy, but I am fine...I think we should follow his mantra here, don't u think, lads? :).
