Daniel Sturridge starts as Liverpool make just one change for this afternoon’s Premier League clash with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The striker comes into the line-up to replace Jordan Henderson, who is ruled out due to a heel injury sustained against Manchester City in the Reds’ last outing two days ago.

It’s Sturridge’s first start since the EFL Cup victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on October 25.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Milner, Can, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Mane, Firmino, Sturridge.


Subs: Karius, Moreno, Lucas, Origi, Stewart, Alexander-Arnold, Ejaria.

Surprised Woodburn didn't get the nod ahead of TAA as an attcaker on the bench unless TAA is back up cover and Moreno is wing back up.

With the break in between this game and our next league game the selection doesn't surprise me all that much.

That defence is barely even mid-tier Championship standard. We simply have to get goals against these. I feel for them a little as their injury list is ridiculous but they also brought it on themselves by buying sh*te every window.
