Strange thing is - if we had started Coutinho and Firmino in the first half I don't think we'd be winning. That process of upsetting the apple cart by introducing them has done wonders. So far, so good in terms of game management from Klopp.

I absolutely agree - this is the weirdness of it all. We're notoriously poor starters and Firmino and Coutinho are as complicit in that as all the other players. They then start to struggle to shift through the gears.

But it must be a motivational lift seeing quality players come on in a match when we're struggling - in a perverse way, it may work more effectively.

Of course he wasn't underestimating the opponent - why'd you think that? His hands were tied - Coutinho wasn't fully fit due to being ill, and Firmino was kanckered at the end of the Bournemouth match having played full minutes for the last two games. Second half cameos were the best way to utilise them.

Moved back to his favourite position, recovered from the heel problem or just lost some weight. Whatever it is I absolutely love this player when he's in this form.
