I know most will think me crazy, though we didn't put in a deal and all, but I think their must have been a real reason why, and that was we knew they weren't bluffing. I think we did all we could do and knew putting in a deal was all for not. A lot goes on behind the scenes that we aren't privy to, but with JK at the helm I do think we were probably in talks with Soton and we're told "he isn't for sale". We have told Barca Phil isn't for sale, and yet they keep putting bids in. I have read where a lot of people say "stop putting in bids you cu*ts, he isn't for sale yada yada yada" So we don't put in a bid for a player who obviously isn't for sale and people are mad? I don't really get the hypocrisy. If a player isn't for sale than they aren't for sale. A Sanchez, Phil, VVD, Costa, etc. all put in TR and none got sold. Everyone has money now, and the clubs no longer have to be pushed around by the player. I know we wish we had VVD here, I sure as heck do. But I'm glad clubs are standing firm on their words and don't have to sell in these situations. I think a lot of us will be saying this after tomorrow and the Couthino fiasco is put to bed. All in all like Phil I think VVD was never for sale to begin with.
