GET IN THERE REDS!!!!
I must admit, and surely I'm not the only one, up until we scored I really thought it was going to be another one of those days where we just couldn't break down a team of bus parkers.
Wijnaldums goal was very much needed and it came at the perfect time. The tension lifted around the ground then and you could see how much more relaxed the players were too. It went to party mode then and to be honest it could have been 5, 6 or 7 by the end, it was like a training game for us.
Coutinho motm by a mile, he ran the game from centre mid again today. Surprised to see wijnaldum has so many votes because even though he scored a great goal, he was a passenger again today, especially in the first half.
Middlesbrough are probably the worst team I've seen at anfield this season, they were abysmal and I'm not surprised they've gone down based on that show. Even if the ref had given them a pen I'm confident we would have won anyway.
Their team might be poor but I thought their fans were a huge credit to their club today. They brought a good few thousand with them which I didn't expect considering they're already down and Middlesbrough is a bit of a hike, they had some banter during the match (just the usual cheering whenever they put three passes together etc) but what impressed me most was when they sang justice for the 96. They've really gone up in my books after that today, I really hope they bounce straight back now.
I'm so excited for the summer transfers and already I'm looking forward to next season. I hope were in the group of death in the CL and we have three top teams in our group (presuming we get to that stage). God how I've missed those special nights. Bring them all on.
Well done lads on a long and tough season. And well done today, it was a very good performance.
It seems Lucas is definitely going so thank you for being such a great servant. You've overcome some unbelievable criticism during your time here and proved everybody wrong. An adopted scouser and your welcome back any time!
Id also say Sturridge is off too, he seemed to wave everybody goodbye before. Very sad because he is such a talent. Thanks for the memories Daniel and I hope your career gets back on track elsewhere and you can show the world what your capable of - just not against us.
Up the reds!!!!!!
