I've got to be honest - I do feel sorry for Ralf Rangnick. The effort he has put in to scout and buy players no other top club in Europe thought was worthy and then bring them up to a level where clubs like us are wanting to pay 70 odd million for one of them shows the genius of the man. In fact, truth be told, if it weren't for Rangnick and his ilk we wouldn't have someone like Klopp managing Liverpool FC. He was a real trailblazer in Germany whose ideas helped get the ball rolling towards greatness for that country and it's clubs 20 years ago. His recent comments are clumsy but you have to realise that he's invested a lot of time and effort into Leipzig and the whole Red Bull project that he is not going to give in easily. If we could find a man like Ralf Rangnick to put above Klopp instead of your Michael Edwards types then this club would be on another level.

That is not the conversation...the conversation was is that I believe that RBL are playing this up for all it's worth because they're names in the papers where normally it would not be.

I think they love it and are milking it to the nth degree.

I do not believe RBL are a big club..and I think you would struggle to find a group of people in a room outside of the Bundesliga that have ever even heard of them.

Now as to your plight of dealing with football snobbery goes; I will let you deal with it and carry the torch for all the little guys out there.

Nuff said...opinions are great ain't they.

Think the implication is that he was saying that black Africans live in villages.

I'm not going to point fingers one way or the other because only he knows what he meant, just passing along what I've read.

Yeah thought about that one but honestly think political correctness has gone to an absurd level if we're branding that racist. There comes a point where if someone implies something as stupid as that, or suggests something such as that we just laugh at how ridiculous they sound rather than running around with the racist card.

Yup...your right and they at least tied in today's qualifiers
      No they didn't.

They don't need to play in the qualifiers.  😒

Bet most people in the world could name 6-8 clubs that play in the premier league.

The rest of those clubs are filler material.

       :lmao:

Filler club material we can't break down!

I have absolutely no sympathy for him mate for going to a club more plastic than the Chavs with no fan base and it seems like set up merely to promote the Red Bull name.

No surprise they are the most hated club in Germany.

A whole village in Guinea’: RB Leipzig’s Rangnick criticises Naby Keïta’s entourage

RB Leipzig’s sporting director Ralf Rangnick has criticised Naby Keïta’s entourage and claimed the midfielder has had his head turned by “a whole village in Guinea”.

Keïta has been the subject of two failed bids from Liverpool, with the latest – a £66m offer that would have shattered their transfer record – rejected last week. Jürgen Klopp has made the 22-year-old his priority in midfield this summer, with Keïta understood to have informed Leipzig he is keen to move to Anfield.

But despite reports in Germany that last season’s Bundesliga runners-up were searching for replacements, Rangnick insisted that neither Keïta nor attacking midfielder Emil Forsberg will be leaving the club.

“There should be someone who points them into the right direction,” he said at a coaching convention in Bochum on Wednesday.

“The boys themselves are not the problem here. It is their surroundings. A whole village in Guinea or somebody from their entourage tells the players why they must do something right away. I can’t blame the players.

I expect them to play for us next season. Both are extraordinary players who make the difference for our team.”

Guardian sport has contacted Keïta’s agents for comment. They are understood to have held talks with Leipzig on Wednesday having met with Klopp earlier this week during Liverpool’s pre-season tour to Hong Kong.

Probably right. In fact I've read where the words being used don't translate exactly how some are taking it. Sounds once again that the twitter "journalists" from Guinea that are pushing this narrative are just trying to gain twitter followers and stir up crap. This would really all come to a head if Keita himself would come out and make a public statement that he wanted to leave. Till then...this is all just drama for clicks. He's not going anywhere and Rangnick will likely only be more resolute  to keep him.

Hopefully we prove to be just as resolute in keeping Coutinho. Surely it's time to give up the ghost with this one? Seems ridiculous the way each bid seems to have a week or so gap like we are hoping the player becomes unsettled and causes a stir. Fingers crossed we have a couple of other targets in mind.

Next thing ya know the entire country of Guinea will be boycotting the Red Bull brand.

You could look at the Keita and VVD sagas as a negative or a positive.

Negative: No other targets being mentioned and the deals are not done

Positive: We are targeting exactly the players the manager wants and will no longer deal with dross.

Reality...Probably one deal out of the two get done...but to me that still better than spending money on Mario Balotelli, Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto types.

Or you could just buy your history like Chavs & City are , your obviously a modern type of fan who only cares what happens in the 'now' and f**k our achievements from the past, well, we started somewhere too, 125 yrs ago to be precise, but unlike chavs, city, psg, rb f***in leipzig we built sides that brought us the history we have today, through sheer hard f***in graft, rather than signing a f***in cheque,

Sorry lad but not entirely true is it? We bought the most expensive players out there in 70's and 80's.

Not sure of that analysis mate when you are asserting your superior position to a black African.

Black Village in Africa implies some uneducated hicks who have no idea compared to the superior whites.

Add in the the way Africa has been raped and pillaged by the whites over the last century I would suggest he is sailing close to racism.
