Understandable and I agree, it's not been great but it could have been much worse. We've signed our key defensive target that we all wanted. Sure we've sold Coutinho but he's missed games through faking injury early on and probably would have faked injury for the rest of the season. Sturridge has barely played for a long time and despite how handy he could have been, that's putting a lot of risk on a player who gets injured if it's a windy day. 1 key player in, and 2 players that would have barely played again isn't as bad as if we had lost Salah and Bobby.
Sure it would have been nice to get in a class keeper and a Coutinho replacement but in all honesty, we could be much worse off and the fact we beat City without Coutinho, shows that we can still beat anyone we play. I'd have preferred us to have got more players in but we did't so there's no point stressing over it, it's done and nothing we can do about it and it certainly wont make me start hoping for a Manc win.
In 3rd, 3 points off 2nd. 8 ahead of 6th placed Arsenal and a win on Sunday puts us 5 ahead of 5th placed Spurs, I'm pretty happy with that at the moment given the circumstances.
Coutinho is not the biggest loss I know, personally I think he lacks defensive attributes to be a midfielder, not strong enough to be a centre forward, shouldn't deep lying because of the defensive liability, we don't need a #10 that left him as a winger if he were still here. He was a high scoring winger, but I would say he was probably the weakest out the the fab four and we got 148m for him. I am more bothered about Sturridge than Coutinho. He can always add goals from the bench.
