Has anybody noticed how conspicuous by his absence Mo's been from all the pre-season advertising, shirt reveals etc?

No idea if there's anything in it or he's just asked to take a back seat from it all but he's always been at the forefront of everything so it just seems strange.

It's great to see the likes of Trent and Allisson getting signed up to new long-term deals but i'll only rest when we get this lad tied down on another 4-5 year contract. Afew idiots criticise him in this thread but he is (alongside VVD) our most important player and critical to our future success imho.

Fantastic performance yesterday, comfortably motm and looks really sharp. But what the feck is Edwards and FSG doing regards his contract? His agent tweeted 'i hope they are watching' as the final whistle went yesterday. I've got a horrible feeling things aren't quite so great behind the scenes regards his future at the club, just feels like there is a bit of a stand off going on. I just hope he is next on the list. We've got VVD signed up, Salah has to be next.

His form is remarkably consistent and never seems to be injured.

He is literally the best player in the premier league and deserves a salary to match that status.

Was boss yesterday. Usually there’s a point in a game where you wonder why he didn’t pass it instead of taking on the shot but yesterday was the opposite, was wondering why he didn’t take the shot to make it 4-0 instead of trying to square it to Mane.

A lot of his creative play that creates chances for others to score goes unnoticed though and he certainly never gets the credit for it.

Get that new long term contract in front of him and signed.

If Mo was european or South American he would get the credit he deserves - being from Egypt he gets dismissed

Really? Scoring goals is the hardest thing to do in the premier league - top goal scorers are the highest paid, pretty standard stuff. Salah bangs them in season after season.

It's a tough one between Mo and VVD Keith. But on account of what he's done the past 4 years, I'd give Mo the edge. There have been so many matches across the last few years where we've needed that goal and Mo has been on hand to top. Heck, him scoring that penalty in the second minute in the final in Madrid 2019 was so defining for that match. Miss that and there's a chance we go on to lose the match.

Truth be told, I can't think of a player aside from Gerrard who has been so utterly pivotal and extraordinary for us. He's a superstar. I love the guy.

Jeez… with all those performance related bonuses pushing our wage will to over £330 million PA where are FSG supposed to get the money to improve terms of players contracts..?
