Well, so far you could sign Mbappe on a free and Haaland at 70m next summer, but other than those 2 there aren’t many players out there playing at Salah’s level.

What’s Van Dijk at? I saw a 220k report then an a different article came out saying he’s at 300k. That’s a big difference.

If he’s at 300k then i can see Salah at 350ish but if he’s at 220k i don’t see the team giving Salah almost 2x that of the next highest paid player.

VVD on 220k new deal, Salah existing deal is 200k.

Yep he is no doubt up there with best but he wasn't before we signed him . I can't see them going anywhere above 300k to be honest

I think this will take time as Salah is on fire and his value will in turn be very high.  Think this could naturally take a couple of months.  With mention to VVD he came back from a horrific injury so offering him a package that made him one of the best paid defenders in the world would have been easier to accept from the players side.   It is the timing. Salah at the moment is fully tuneup think this may take a bit of time.  But one think it shouldn't be dragged to next year or at least January.

You can't buy a replacement if you think about it for several reasons. First of all your talking about having to pay at least £80/£100 million. On top of that wages will still be £250k minimum a week. It simply makes sense to compromise and hope you can get him for £300k a week.
