General Question, let's say Barca offer 150 million for Coutinho.

Do you think we should accept it?

      Nope.

There is a reason why Barca want him.   Same reason we should keep him.

And Messi, keep yer trap shut, stirrer.

And in your heart of hearts, which do you honestly think is more likely?

I trust Jürgen not to allow the second option mate, I know what FSG would prefer and I don't think he would let them get away with it.

      FSG logic:

"Awww shucks, Leipzig don't need to sell. Neither do Southampton. Guess we have to accept that."

"Oh you bid for Coutinho? We have no option but to accept."

      Just watch it happen.

Just watch people gobble it up.

I've got a better idea. How about just watching to find out what happens instead of coming up with sh*te to bash FSG with?

The only thing making me not 100% certain he WILL go is the words of the boss.

When both VVD and NK started playing up 2 wks ago I said my "spidey" senses were tingling that something was happening with Phil.

don't mean to judge but you seem paranoid. Need to chil. He won't be going anywhere this window. We are a big team with a lot of history. His family is settled, he has friends here he is loved by fans. Are Barca that much bigger than us? No.. an aging side that just lost Neymar. It's not the same quality Barcelona then when Suarez left. I'd argue Real Madrid are better right now. Klopp said no. Shut case. Unless you want to believe the daily crap about a new bid each day or coutinho yet again for the hundruth time agreed terms without Liverpool's consent, chill out.

I've an even better idea, examine our abject failure to make consistent progress under these owners and try and apply lessons from other transfer windows.

Sorry, I'll get back on script. It's all going to be fine, absolutely fine.

What do you want us to do with that £100m though? It's not like we're going to spend it. Next season maybe £100 m can buy you a Raheem Sterling.

If I can wander off-script a little longer, it's almost as if somebody has an ulterior motive in refusing to learn from 7+ years of abject failure to progress satisfactorily.

The programme you indicate is getting tiresome it has to be said.

      Every player has their value.
If we had a proper and smart transfer committee and negotiating team in place, 100 million PRIOR to this crazy summer's window I would have said a big yes.
But the fact to me is that we don't have a great system in place AND average - good - to potentially great players are massively over valued so to expect us to get a replacement in for Phil is, to me, not gonna happen.

And just imagine if we'd bought two top players every one of those 7+ seasons (not an unreasonable request for a team of our stature), and kept them, where we wound be at now!

Still think he'll stay for this season. His loyalty/respect for Jürgen, the manager's determination not to lose him, Phil's instrumental role in the team and the freedom he's given to play his game, the opportunities ahead of us this season, a sense of unfinished business, his age and the fact that he could still move next season if we haven't shown significant progress, along with the massive pressure it would place on the owners, all combine to make me think he wil be playing in the red of Liverpool for one more year.

IMO, it would take not only a massive bid from Barca to change that but the player himself would also have to kick off and demand a move. I don't see that happening. Not this summer anyway.

If anything though this situation should be a massive wake up call (as if WE needed one ffs), to the powers that be, that we have to invest and invest NOW or sure as sh*t we are going to see this situation repeat itself.

What's the point? Who cares about the money, it's all relative... you don't sell your best player going into the champions league. It'll be an absolute disgrace if Liverpool let him go.

Can't see Coutinho wanting to join Barca and leaving this summer! I think it is PSG we should be worried about next summer.

If this is prolonged, and Barcelona don't get the hint and if LFC are adamant, I guess we can start to see this happening again.

Lionel Messi urges Liverpool to act 'humanely' and let Javier Mascherano join Barcelona

Anyone else remember this crass move by the tax evader?

To be fair he isn't wrong, how 'humane' was the Hodgson 'months'
