While using numbers to back up decisions is a rational thing to do, sometimes we should just get rid of those f**king stats. Because past performance is no guarantee for future performance.
Don't have a problem with stats and they should be encouraged in football but as we all know they can be manipulated and in Edwards case, manipulated to protect his own job when it came to Rodgers eventual sacking. That's not to say Rodgers was at fault but it's clear that when Rodgers went, Edwards and Fallows etc should have gone with him.
The good thing is that, if it came to an impasse between Klopp and Edwards in the same way it did between Rodgers and Edwards, I think the owners would be much more receptive to Klopp than they were to Rodgers given his higher and more respected reputation. I'd back the big man against that little bespectacled c**t any day.
