Well why not? was disappointing not see any Liverpool defenders on there, Hyypia anyone?

Anyway give it a go if your interested, was fun reminiscing about the older days!

I've gone for greatest just in terms of talent, not as much in terms of contribution.

Might be a leadership clash between Gerrard and Keane but one I'd be willing to see!

Same team I chose except had Cech in for Seaman.

Thought about picking Cech (massive fan of his) as well and he's probably the best PL keeper ever. Seaman though - excellent keeper in his own right, very reliable and loyal. Was a fan of his admittedly when growing up!

Just realised the defence and goalkeeper I had was the first choice players for England around the 2002 World Cup - all 5 of them started the 5-1 win against Germany as well (along with Stevie). England really did have a fine defence at the turn of the century.

Same as mine except I went for Schmeichel.

Haha, I don't know. Picked my team in 15 seconds. Will change my mind in 5 minutes.

Just watched a few videos of Alan Shearer and had considered putting him in my team originally.

I think actually for his sheer consistency and the fact that for a period he really was as good as any striker in the world I'd have him in my team. The man was a goal machine, year after year.

      Still a sh*te pundit mind.

Agree. He was absolutely lethal in front of the goal. Great work rate as well which was pretty rare among strikers back in the day. Shearer, along with Rushie and God were main reasons I fell in love with British footy.
