They've just agreed a fee for Balde Diao Keita.

And some would say he's cover for Mbappe?

Yep possibly, though they did bring in Stevan Jovetic as well.

Good for you to agree that they have delivered ... you having started this topic.

It was a question worthy of asking ...when you did it Steve .

Felt like at the time mate but it's looking like I'm going to end up with egg on my face haha.

Not that I'm bothered because if I'm wrong it means the reds get some new signings.

Never felt so good to be wrong!

So apparently one day left to sign Lemar because of his inclusion in the game on Thursday and VVD we are still waiting for Soton to allow us to bid. So really no improvement on this years team despite a lot of noise. Considering our typical antics on deadline day, forgive me for being a bit worried.

Like I keep saying lads, it's not that I don't care, it's that I've seen so many windows.

I can't control what happens, so I see no point in getting my arse in an uproar.

Klopp is a coach of making teams better from within. If we keep the Brazilian, whose name shall not be mentioned anymore, we'll be fine as long as we don't lose key players for longer. We could win the PL and CL in that scenatio. I don't need no VVD or Lemar. This very team with the Brazilian till 2022 and I'd bet at least for one PL title, one FA Cup and one CL title in this time frame.

^^^ Codswallop. We haven't been able to defend set pieces for 5 years. Come October/November the opposition will click on (again). We need a center back to win any silverware. Ideally we'd need a new keeper too, to add some much needed impregnability.

If we sign Virgil, we will mount a proper title challenge this year.

Obviously these latest rumours have lifted spirits a bit, but until they actually happen it hasn't been a great window. I live in hope though! 🙏

YAHOO - an empty expression for an empty report.
Posted elsewhere of a report from the Liverpool Echo that CEO Peter Moore's states Coutinho will not be sold in this transfer window,

      Which is more credible?

Obviously these latest rumours have lifted spirits a bit, but until they actually happen it hasn't been a great window.

Liverpool's top priority is improving the defence.  Everyone in the world knows we can turn it on up front.  You won't win the league shipping the number of goals we have been at the back for years now.  And similarly you can't go all the way in tournaments for a similar reason - especially the two legged ones.

It's called the Kevin Keegan rule.

      Get Van Dijk.

I thought Peter Moore said he had nothing to do with transfers?  He can't pick and choose when he can jump on and off that bandwagon IMO.

I don't think he does still.

Some blert had a go at him about selling Coutinho and he just replied with something along the lines of

I'm sorry I have no idea what you're talking about

Irrespective of Moores' previous rhetoric, of which nobody takes much F***ing notice of, I think that quote challenges the Yahoo waffle in terms of credibility.
No great fan of Moores myself who as you describe does make the right noises to accommodate agendas, ulterior motives are not obvious with this statement it's got to be said.

      I'm with you on this.

When I see us retain Coutinho, sign VVD/Lemur/Ox then they can have my support for the next 12 months.

Until then just lots of noise and efforts.

I just read Lemur is 100m so lets see if they stop F***ing about and get it done.

      Signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for £35m.

Not one for me, never been impressed by him but Klopp obviously does rate him so I support the decision. Wants to play centrally..
