Way I see it playing out as well, they step aside and let us sign Lamar, they then sign Coutinho on the friday.

Same here mate, I guess we will know by midday tomorrow whether The Lemar deal is a goer. If it is you can be ya bottom dollar Phil will be on his way on Friday.

I thinks it 11pm tomorrow night, could be 10pm though. Spanish deadline runs for an extra day.  Think the German deadline is 5pm

Bad enough having one player downing tools, don't need another one if things get tough..

If we get Lemar I just can't see anyway Phil stays. I could be wrong. Would you rather have Lemar even if it meant Phil leaves this year?

Depends, I don't want Barcelona to be strengthened, but I don't want Coutinho if we don't need him.

If we get Lemar and vvd I'm really not arsed about Phil? He's muddied the water enough for me and it'll be a good few bob in the kitty

There could be a scenario tomorrow where Barcelona agree to step aside in a Lemar deal on the condition that we allow Coutinho to leave to them.

What I want is for us to tell them that, then turn around and say "sorry, we are keeping Phil too".

      I'm really not following...

They 'let' us sign Lemar so that they can sign our player, a player that we don't want to sell?

If we make an offer good enough for Lemar then we'll be signing him because Monaco agree to sell, not because Barcelona think they run the world and 'allow' us to do so. They won't have a say in it.

Course we need him. Every team needs players like Coutinho.

Exactly. We don't need any favors from Barcelona to do business. It's about time we started thinking more as one of the top clubs in the world and not accepting being below that. That has to start changing.

      It's called business!!

Take the emotion etc out of it, that's all this will be, a business decision.

Footy loyalties etc don't come into it.

TBF I don't see Barca matching our offer for them to be in the place to even have a scenario where they will go away from Lemar after we give them Phil. Not after the peanuts they offer to every one they want to buy.

Think if we splash £60-70M on either Lemar or VVD, Coutinho goes Fri as some have said.
If we land both, he DEFINITELY goes!
If we land neither, I'm still not sure he stays.
As far as I'm concerned, if we get Lemar, along with AOC, I won't be bothered if Coutinho leaves.
If we don't get Lemar, even if we were to sign VVD, I wouldn't be happy if he went.
Roll on the weekend so we know where we are!  Best get some beers in tonight to follow TDD's final hours!

How confident are you of this statement, have you placed a bet on Coutinho going? It seems that you and others have some inside knowledge that the owners are happy to look like complete tw*ts for saying every single day that he is not for sale and then sell him.
I really don't think they will sell him now and I kind of have a gut feeling that Phil maybe no longer wants to leave.
