Helped him having both Thiago and Fab playing, together they provided good cover and a good base for Ox to have more freedom.

Wouldnā€™t disagree, having them two behind anyone would make your job easier but Iā€™d also think itā€™s rhythm again thatā€™s helping, heā€™s been so stop start for the last couple of years that only playing regularly will help

Heā€™s completely different to any other midfielder we have, his instinct is to drive beyond the forwards and get involved in the opposition area. He tryā€™s ā€œriskyā€ options other midfielders donā€™t which is why at times he loses possession
But credit to him and the manager/coaches that heā€™s thinking more defensively than Iā€™ve ever seen him, dropping in to do that side of his work, the clearance early is a prime example of that.. it was a brilliant piece of defensive midfield work

Agree but Ox also had great defensive efforts.

Loved seeing the Ox having a bit of a run in the team - does seem like heā€™s one of those players who needs a few games to really play himself into form. Might we see him a little further forward in the false 9 with Jota and Bobby carrying knocks - seem to remember Klopp playing him there in pre seasonā€¦

Finally, that's the Ox we want to see. Hope he can get in a real rhythm now and also start contributing to the scoreboard more often, now his confidence is up.

Games games games is what Ox needs. If he can stay fit from those games he will start to show what he can do.

This is his best form since before the injury. Says how hes matured, because he isn't scoring goals like before, and yet he's still having amazing impact.

Wonderful team mate and hopefully getting his just due to contribute again, like before. Must be hard to be injured during majority of our success. Here's to hoping he stays healthy. Class when he is.

I also liked your post because you're right. Although I have my views on these players they're here and there's nothing I can do and complaining doesn't help.

he is one of those "young players" with huge potential who you suddenly realise is 29 years old and 4 years on has 91  first team games and  has scored 8 goals.

Thatā€™s a fair assessment Walt, think weā€™ve all had a few of these over the yearsā€¦ Thereā€™s a term I use in greyhound racing called not trained on. A greyhound is classed as a pup till itā€™s 2 years old, show great ability but then doesnā€™t improve in its maturity stagesā€¦ Some useless info I know but said it anyway.  ;D

Ox was coming along very strongly before his injury. Not that you would, but if you were to look at our '17-18 season when we made it to the CL finals  he was immense, both in the league and CL, running with the ball powering through the midfield and unleashing rockets from outside the box.
