Don't think its a red card, dangerous play or not. I think the keeper made the wrong call on this one. He came way too out, Mane couldn't have seen it.

To be fair mate the keeper was doing his job as was mane,for me it was a 50/50 and the ball was there to be won by either player.

Is this a valid reading of the rules? Because if so I don't see where Mane's play falls in that category?

my first opinion was it's a red.  But then again, the "Edison's Tactic" can be used in a Final, he found an exploit to sent off a player by sacrificing himself.. Any keeper can just put their head to a foot, and he'll make opponent's key player out of the game.

Absolutely, but all I've found is stills.

I've seen the replay several times, and not a red for me. Mane is a quick player and has gone for that in a similar manner to other through balls. He's won a few of these 1v1 with keepers running out, and that's all he tried to do. Keeper moved his head down to the ball, and it was a collision.

What if the ref doesn't give a red? He might get more fire. Red is a safe decision.

Damn why take Salah off, it should have been Wignaldum.

After seeing the pictures I have to say: It gets closer to a must-have red card. Still in my book a yellow would have been no capital mistake from the ref, but it looks ugly.

Long road back now. Strangely flat atmosphere. Started well, some chances, but didn't take them. Aquero just needed one, that's what a clinical striker gives you when they weren't playing that well. Still, was against the run of play.
Thought was reckless from Mane, feet off the ground, knows keeper HAS to head it, taking a big risk. Then once Mane went off, we looked like we might ship a couple before HT, if 2nd half is same, could be long afternoon.
Funny old game, we looked comfortable enough, thought we'd score first, then end up 2 down and at 10 men by HT.
