One high probability chance from LFC in 90 min. with 60% ball possession.    Again, I blame the system, it's too static. And don't say our defense was a positive, ManU just wanted a safe draw, played accordingly and didn't actually try our defense. What a move backwards from a year ago. IMHO Klopp has to selfscout his system, it's ineffective.

Calm down darling. It's not the system. When you're dependent on a midfield of Hendo, Gini and Can then don't be surprised by plodding, uninspired results like this.

Maureen got what he came for which is always a shame.

We didn't really do enough to deserve to win it.

Lack of a good CF again the difference of 3 points or a draw.

Clean sheet but there again back 4 were never tested.

      Onwards and upwards.

Frustrated again despite being the better team. I'm really starting to worry about our progress, have we going backwards since last season?

It's not just that though, take that midfield and then in front of them you play a hard working false 9 who will run all day but doesn't provide the sort of goal threat that so many of our rivals possess and you are also going to struggle. It's not jut about the midfield.

Frustrated another game we should have won don't think they had a shot on target

They had a pretty good one in the 1st half, could have easily scored.

We just look like a team that is not clinical, also we'd need a guy like Crouch in the middle as a constant threat, it's humilating to see us having the ball and playing around the box with again and again no real result. We have 13 goals, ManU/ManC over 20. That's a disaster for a team that tries to make up for a weaker defense with its offense.

Are you bloody F***ing blind or do you have a problem counting? We had  3 chances as big as you'll ever see against a team that has 9 clean sheets out of 10. The system is not a problem at all.

I'm completely drained to be honest, Mourinho is an embarrasment for any top team. Yes they got what they wanted and the F***ing manc cu*ts will be happy with that point, but F**k me. The c**t even manages to take out the fun and excitement of the hate game. If any manc c**t comes out and says he's happy watching that after having spent 300 F***ing million quid to see that load of sh*te, I'm lost for words. They're a small team, nothing more. Any top team comes and plays football, they shat themselves at the thought of having to leave their own half.

As the fella on the radio just said there - 'I didn't see anything from Henderson that somebody else couldn't have done and he's supposed to be the leader of this team'.

Can and Wijnaldum did bits, Salah tricky but again not finding the net.

A positive has to be our defending as a team which was better than it has been recently.

Going to have to win midweek though redmen.

Only because they didn't even bother to attack.

I wouldn't be reading too much into that defensive performance.

After all, on the very rare occasion they did attack, Mignolet bailed us out.

It is sh*t really isn't it though when your front three basically have to do everything themselves in an attacking sense .

Can't wait for Keita, mostly looking forward and actually turns and runs at the heart of defences. Going to make a massive difference to our team.

Keita's going to need another new face in there to make this a midfield worthy of making the top teams think hard.

I'm fast reaching the conclusion that Hendo should not be playing for us. Such a shame given that I've supported him for the last few years. Tepid, plodding, doesn't take chances, doesn't create anything, sucks the tempo out of the game. Shirks any opportunity to fight. Only on rare occasions (like Leicester away) will he get riled up. Honest conversation needed on him now.

We should have midfield runners bursting forward though when we attack.

It makes space for the attackers , gives more options and unsettles the defence a lot more.

A clinical striker would be nice though. Imagine Luis in this team.

      3 chances?

      Wow.

2 of them were half chances, and if you're counting the Firmino cross to Salah in the first half (near post), then that wasn't even a chance.

      Matip's was the clearest.

Don't try and bend this with opportunities created - we lacked incision and were toothless. End of.

As I said ages ago, the game was crying out for a striker. We left Sturridge on the bench until only 12 mins remaining. By that point, the team was done in, and Coutinho and Salah were withdrawn, with Firmino not long after.

What can a Striker do there? Score from corners???

Solid defence (albeit with little to do), and a clean sheet with Mignolet making one top save (not much else to do).

Midfield was fine, and when the game was flowing we got en forward well.

Unfortunately, it was our front three who did not do enough. Fancy touches, great control, and excellent play around the box. But when it came to put the ball in the net, they made snap shots and no real threat at all. Even so, should have scored in the 1st half.

Man Utd came to the game as favourites, but Mourinho was scared again and went for a draw. He got what he wanted - again. We didn't do enough - and Klopp stuck with the same system until all hope was gone.

Shout out to Gomez, Salah, and Coutinho who all played well. Moreno too put in a good shift!

IMO it is. We play too much horizontal and too little vertical. When you don't have the best midfield you don't make it your main anchor. Right now we play like Barcelona in its best days, but without their talent. Bad idea. Klopp once was known for one-touch-football with strong drive to the goal, nothing seems left of that idea (and he got the league in Germany with that strategy).

Matip, Salah after the Matip chance and Can.

Any of them could / should have been a goal. Not denying we were toothless, but we created more than enough to score once or twice.

Really hope Naby arrives in midfield, game like this highlights that slight lack of quality we possess in that area of the pitch.

Not really true. Utd were the form team and were scoring for fun. We have a shaky defence, and poor results. Sure enough, we were expected to lose that.

However, given the performance with Utd sat deep (as small teams do at Anfield) and posing little threat, and Liverpool dominating the game, it is completely right to be disappointed that we didn't get the win. Opinions are based on real events. Opinions can change depending on the game itself.
