A bit off topic, but a decent result for us last night, keeps us in 6th, only 3 points off 4th. We need to beat these comfortably, with a strong starting 11 at least. Get he game won, then use the fringe players, need to build in the Huddersfield result now and take it to Hammers full of confidence. No good building confidence in players who won't feature against the hammers. We've not been brilliant in the pre, so the regulars do need to build the winning momentum. We could manage without Hendo though, and keep the pace going forward.
5;1 for me, with the fringe players on second half.

Maribor won't give us any concerns whatsoever in fact i reckon we could field the entire U23's and we'd still batter them,

Anyhoo thats not going to happen...but id like to try something out , just a little tweak see if there's any substance....

Not a bad game to experiment in, we can rest a few 1st teamers and give game time to a couple of fringers,
Been toying with the idea of Matip in front of a back four, i think he'd do well there, as a DM, he likes to charge forward at times giving a good attacking platform, my only concern is his passing range and accuracy but that could be worked on,
I dont envisage he'll be taxed too much from the Maribor attack but it could give us food for thought,

I think its inevitable we'll be losing Coutinho so why not give young Woodburn some experience playing the '10' role, again just to kind of a  'suck it and see' experiment, Klopp will have someone in mind for the inevitable but we will still need cover,

Of course their will be a few changes probably in goal, the full back positions and Ox in for Salah/Firmino but we need to keep the team strong IMO.

Tomorrow might tell us if there's anything more to Robertson’s absence than “bedding him in” and Moreno’s “improved form”.

People picking teams should remember that this is a league, not a Cup round format, so we can ill afford to be loosing points. With only one point seperating three of the teams, expect a similar strength team to the one that played them over there.

This isn't the first leg of a Cup round were 'damage limitation' can be used before going back to your home ground still in the tie, they're bottom of the table but a win against us with positive results elsewhere puts them back in the mix and blows the group wide open, so Maribor have everything to play for, which means we can't afford to field an understrength team with only goal difference/one point seperating us from the other two teams in the group. We need to get the job done quickly and professionally and unlike most on here who are posting up understrength teams, I would not expect Klopp to show such complacency and go with a strong team.

Yes, in the presser Klopp mentioned these two and also Bobby as having possible issues (cramp I think he said). He often gives little hints about the lineup, sort of explaining it ahead of time as to a reason. Phil and Lovren still question marks as well, depending on training, which begins in 15 minutes and the beginning of which I believe is open.

So if this is correct, do you reckon the back line is TAA, Matip, Klavan (or Lovren  ) and Robertson?

EDIT: Looks from the training feed that Phil and Lovren are not involved.

It might look easy on paper following our earlier result against these, but 3 points is more important than trying out new formations and personal.
