Brighton & Hove Albion 1-5 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Dec 02, 2017 01:59:48 pm

Amex Stadium ready to be beaten by the Reds

Starting XI: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Can, Robertson, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Karius, Sturridge, Grujic, Klavan, Mane, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Solanke.

Liverpool make six changes for this afternoon’s Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho return in attack, while Jordan Henderson and James Milner are also back in the line-up and Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson start in defence.

Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are ruled out due to a virus and adductor injury respectively, while Alberto Moreno is rested.

Ragnar Klavan is still recovering from illness, but is fit enough for a place among the substitutes.

Not as confident with these changes as I was midweek . Odd Klavan cant start but on bench. Need Coutinho to come to party as the lack of creative midfielders is obvious

Pele Robertson in so should win this about 10-0 according to his hype.

If Gomez, Matip are out injured and Klavan's fully fit then I can't see what else we can do with our defence.  I'd probably agree that Can is better in there than Milner or Henderson but it's not ideal is it.  Definite weak area of squad depth.

But it'a a solid line up. I said he should be trying to get a better balance between attack and defense. May be this is slightly to defensive. Protection is there so is the flair. Could be tight but 2-0 for us.

Proper injury crisis at the back like. Really unlucky to have 2 CBs injured and another one only half fit. Probably fair to give Moreno a rest as well.

Bit worried about the midfield, a trio of Hendo, Milner and Gini doesn't inspire me at all.

Theres not a lot of goals if you look at the recent run of Brighton games . They play it tight.

      Who am I to know?

We might get 5 ... and then we might just draw.

      Interesting selection by JK.

Good to see Can , T.A.A. and Robertson .... don't know about Henderson or Lovren.

Mane and Solanke on the bench ...... don't leave it too late Jürgen if you have to bring them on.

Bit of a worry to see a back four that have never played together seeing as we don't defend very well with the lads who do play together!

Also we've gone back to the functional boring midfield three. I would have preferred to see Coutinho or Ox in there. Should be enough to deal with Brighton but I could see us struggling to break them down if we don't get the early goal.

In fact, the more I look at the team the more I think an upset could be on the cards.

I like the line-up except for Milner, would have played Alex.

Come on Reds. 2-0 win will do ;)

Not too worried tbh, they score 2 we'll get 3 imo, thought tho Lallana would be given minutes to build game fitness, be intetesting how Milner & Gini do in midfield, could work really well, but then Ox played well midweek and is unlucky to not start ,

Still think we'll win this , 1-2 Mighty Redmen

Just noticed this. We are gonna need a lot of protection from the midfield today I reckon!
