Only problem come summer time is it gives other clubs like PSG to get their sh*t in order before making a bid. I really want Alisson from the little I've seen but I would completely understand if Jürgen doesn't want to spend 60m+ on a goalkeeper. World record fees for a CB & GK in successive windows? The world would lose it's sh*t.

Yeah, I think Roma feels hard done by with how "cheap" Salah went for and I just can't see them selling their best players for so "little" now, but 60m+ for a keeper is really taking the piss imo.

Oh, and PSG do need a keeper, don't they? I think Barca can improve, and so can Real and Arsenal.

I don't think Real needs a keeper too tbh. As for Ter Stegen, you are right, but I just think they can do better and go for a proper sweeper keeper!

Karius needs to be No1 until the end of the season, it's the only way we'll know if he's improved enough.

Even if we were to go for him in the summer, they would make sure they squeeze every penny out of us this time, probably stick a bit more on top of that too because of Salah.

Reddy and Joyce coming out with this at exactly the same time tells you that the club thought now would be a good time to go public with this.

Question... Why are Italian club so fu**ed up when It comes to transfers...??

I mean, They seem to like taking players on loan with an options to buy at ex amount; then when it comes down to it they always renege on the deal and offer less that the set price.
What worse is if the price is contingent on that player playing ex amount of games they will always stop the player two or three games short of that target so they have an excuse not to offer the full price, not matter how good that player has played for them, and no matter the positive impact that player as had on their season

On selling players the always have a ridicules mark up on a player, £20m in most cases...
I understand teams wanting to make as much as they can from the sell of a player, but Italian clubs seem to always go way over the top compered to French,Spanish, Dutch and Germany clubs.... Drives me f**king nuts

I would never send a player on loan to an Italian club

Don't need to pay 62m for a goalkeeper. Karius has been excellent recently.

I think that If he is the right goal keeper for us then we should buy him, even at £62m....how Much did City pay for Ederson Moraes £35M although we should put in an initial bid of £32m

This Karius talk is all very well but back in the real world we need another goalkeeper.

If we don't then this time next year we will be regretting it again.

My only wish was Karius was No.1 in August 17 because he is looking decent now and I already knew back then Mignolet was not good enough.

Still though if Karius is good enough he will find a way to play if we sign Allison.

By what i read in English media they rate Ederson high despite those errors he commited due to that exotic playing style. Well, Alisson is better than Ederson and should be more expensive.

      Cheers mate.

I like Karius and always thought he needed a run to establish himself.

Wouldn't stop me buying this guy though and getting rid of Migs.

Exactly, if you  can buy a good player, do it...worry about how to deal with people's egos and playing time later.

To be honest I was unconvinced when he became Brazil's number 1, he had been good for Inter but I didn't think at the time he had been tested enough there.

These past few months though, he's grown a lot in my estimation, he's been extremely good for Roma, some great performances, very solid numbers, and he might not be as good as Ederson with his passing but he's shown a lot of ability to play with his feet as well.

no thanks. 62 million is outrageous for when Karius is doing well.

Why is 62 million for one of the best Goalkeepers in the world outrageous when we just sold a midfielder for £140 million and bought a defender for £75million?

Personally I find it weird that Goalkeepers are not the most expensive player in any team, just look at De Gea and the amount of points he has saved Manure, he is every bit if not more important that Lukaku at the other end.

Goalkeepers do come under a lot of scrutiny and it tends to push their evaluation down, Ederson is the most expensive goalkeeper in the world at £34.7m. If we were to pay for £35m Becker it would still be the most expensive goalkeeper in the world.. I could get behind that idea. When we almost double the record, I would only be cool with that if we had garbage in goal, but we have Karius playing well so it is debatable if we need to pay that much. I would say it is best described with conditionals.

      If Karius plays well
            62 million is too much
      else
62 million has to be spent

Would I be happy paying 62m for Becker? Not really, because it means we will invest less in another areas.. such as offer less money for Jorginho etc... We need to get him and not City if we want to rival City for the league.
If Karius performances drop, then I agree it is a very important area and we would just have to fork out.

This guy is quality. He Is probably 2 levels above Karius/Mignolet.

60m or under would be great business IMO. Would be a signing that would definitely win us points over the season. Please make it happen Jürgen.

I think if we can get this guy, Jorginho  (Napoli) - proper ball winner, and a striker to go with Naby Keita, we can at least push City next season.

I'm totally cool with this if Loris maintains his form until May and remains injury beyond summer. Aside from the 3 positions that were already earmarked for summer - Winger, #10 & #6 - this would probably mean we would have funds available for another striker.

So true. Makes a change from pretending to be interested in a player and then low balling them so we get told to f**k off i suppose?
