Not since Coutinho Sale. We are negative Netspend even if you average it over last 5 years. The Spurs v Liverpool figures were outdated pre sale.

Even if you take the Coutinho figure into account then Spurs have still spent way less than us and sold more in the last 5 years.

Anyway Klopp says money is available and he has never had a potential transfer blocked, why wold he lie, just give me one good reason why he would lie about that?

Why are we the only one of top six teams to end up with a weaker team at the end of January?

Why would the TC push a player onto the manager when they weren't prepared to do a deal for that player a few years ago at a fraction of the cost when he fell right in line with their transfer strategy? Yet people say FSG are all about not spending money.

They were prepared. It was the player who chose Chelsea, not the TC who turned down the chance to sign him. None of this is rumour or conjecture, it's all in the public domain.

He went to Chelsea because we wouldn’t pay the asking price.

would have liked another center half.  But I can understand that no midfielder came in as we have Keita coming in the summer and maybe can leaving.  same with Karius, he has to the end of the season to make the position his or a first place keeper will be bought, Migs will be out with a replacement for him coming in.

I hope the reports are true about James Rodriguez wanting to come in the summer.

Don't forget about VvD coming in. Priority number 1 was a centre back, and we got the best one available.

Could explain why we haven't spent more this window.

Maybe if they get relegated we are going to just buy the whole club.  Having said that - I think Southampton have been picked clean now.

Turn our attention to Leicester, I'd have Vardy all day long and they may as well throw in Mahrez.

Nope it was definitely another defender, something most of us were wanting back at the end of August.

We got one. Losing Coutinho was a blow, but was inevitable he was off sooner rather than later.

Just had a quick look to see if could find out what kind of business Jürgen did in Winter windows for Borussia Dortmund.
This is all I could find, no big names, no substantial money spent:

Winter transfer window signings for Borussia Dortmund
      2010-11 : 1, Moritz Leitner
      2011-12 : 0
      2012-13 : 1, Nuri Åžahin, Loan
      2013-14 : 1, Miloš Jojić, 2.5mill
      2014-15 : 1, Kevin Kampl, Undisclosed

His big business, and signings, were done in the summer afai could see.

Just get the feeling Jürgen likes to do his serious business in Summer.

Went after Brandt first, when he knocked us back Salah was suggested.

Aye I read Salah had to be sold to Klopp by the likes of Edwards.

One of the articles I read said he was 4th choice on the list behind the likes of Brandt, Promes and that American lad from Dortmund.

Worked out well in the end i guess.

What i want to say is to not let other clubs short comings make up for our poor showings in the windows.

City aside, if we got our sh*t together we would be miles clear of the rest ourselves.

Chelsea look to be going through yet another civil war, Spurs have a small squad, Arsenal are Arsenal and United seem to be backing the manager but their manager is holding them back.

Like i saod City are miles ahead but there's no reason we cannot look to go with them next season.

With or without top 4 this season I want to add.

Dunno. We've signed Coutinho and Studge on January before. I'd be for making a signing or two in Jan if possible.
But he generally doesn't, not just here at LFC.

To my mind FSG have - Suarez / Carroll aside - only finished the business they started in the summer window but couldn’t get done in any January.

It’s accepted as fact that BR didn’t want Studge and thought Cou was too slight and pulled the plug on them after agreeing a loan for Carroll in summer 2012. FSG retaliated by blocking Dempsey and BR was left looking like a punk.

FSG were incandescent and made it clear he was getting Studge and Cou in Jan.

      They fitted the moneyball model.

Making FSG sound like shrewd operators there :)
Sure, we don't have the budget of some of the other big teams.
Was just looking back at Jürgen's history of Jan windows, doesn't mean FSG aren't put some level of break on him.

We signed one first team player in January. Which is one more than I expected. January is usually a transfer desert at this club. When Klopp wants a table, he waits until such time as the table he wants has been got. He never takes a lampshade.

      Anyway, look at the league table, and it says;

      3: Liverpool

So only the clubs that can afford to chuck 50-100 million out the window on every new purchase, are currently ahead of us. We can't do that, but in an 11 a side contest over 90 minutes, we can still give them a game.

In a word NO. Sold our best player.

Chuffed to get VVD but I'm wising up to the fact our defence would be sh*te if we had Baresi, Maldini, Moore and Carlos in their pomps so I'm not really sure how much impact he will have long term.
