Juve is the only team I would like to avoid as their defensive games is the best and are most equipped to frustrate the crap out of our attacking players. In Dybala and Higuan, they have players who can score with a single shot on target and then defend that lead like madmen.

Plus it's potentially an unsafe trip for our fans.

For some strange reason, I’m convinced we’ll get Bayern.
Not fazed by that, convinced we’ll beat them over two legs. In fact I think we’re capable of beating any of them over two legs.
They are football teams after all. Proud to show off their skills as individuals as well as the team ethic.
Can’t think of one of them that would want to play hoof ball !
All have that certain mark of class about them now. The dross has all gone.

Bayern through. Just saw Babel coming on for Besiktas, forgot all about Ryan.

Such a shame when he had such potential as a kid.

Not looking good for Chelski. Messi puts them 1-0 up after 2 minutes.

      Chelski playing well though.

One final edit to the poll to reflect Chelsea's elimination. The three who voted for them are free to vote for someone else now.

Messi reminds today that he can still appear rather otherworldly, but I'd still like to see us against his team in the quarterfinals.

I have voted for Roma but really it should not matter who we draw,If we are to win this cup (and I believe we can) then we should fear no team.Go the MIGHTY REDS.

So there we have it - the last 16 has been played and we are down to our last 8. It really is shaping up to be a fine tournament with a quarter final line up containing the finest and most prestigious names in European football...and Manchester City.

I'd take them in final yes, but not before. It would be extremely difficult to outscore them over two legs.

I have serious concerns about our progress whoever we meet. There are a number of weaknesses in Klopp's approach. I had thought these weaknesses would not develop into a major concern. Some of these concerns come to the fore against the top sides. It may well be that we brush aside poorer teams in the Prem and these weaknesses don't impact on our ability to beat lesser teams.

Many are lulled into a false sense of security by this.

I will when I see more evidence. It may well be that I'm over exaggerating these issues. And the impact may be not as significant as I think. For that reason I'm not going to expand. I'll run the risk of dissension and ridicule.

Amazing how the narrative changes last season and the season before that from being awesome against the top sides but being crap against the poor.

Oh and despite being the first manager in nearly a decade to get us this far in Europe along with the fact he guided a Dortmund side he built on a shoestring all the way to Wembley in the final and a donkey of a Liverpool squad to the final of the Europa League, you say we should be questioning his approach?

You just have to enjoy it. I'm sure all 7 teams will look at us and say they can exploit us but at the same time I'd look at all 7 teams left in and say we can beat them all if we get our tactics right and the players turn up.

Just enjoy the ride - we've been away from the business end of this competition for far too long to be so negative about it!

You know that the best part of it is?  I look at the list of 7 possible ties in the next round and I feel confident that we can get through to the semi's.  That confidence has been given to me by no one other than Klopp!

10 matches in the competition thus far, zero losses.

I don't think anyone is suggesting we are invincible - I'm certainly not - but there is a genuine feeling that we CAN beat anybody in the competition. Maybe we're not Man City, Real or Barca and favored to win the whole thing, but we're also not Shaktar or Besiktas and thinking "there's no way we can win." We CAN win this.

You are aware we were unbeaten and against all the so called top teams in the league last season right? And that we are the only team to beat City in the league this season?

I have no concerns when facing any top team with regards to Klopp. It’s the likes of Lovren that scare the hell out of me.

Not to mention, pre-season or not....we stuffed Bayern back in the summer, something they won’t have forgotten should we meet them at any stage.
