      f***in hell, that was good.

In control of the tie now - hit them on the counter at theirs and we are through.

Great stuff all round from everybody. Special mentions for TAA, Hendo, Milner, Robertson and Mane. Was going to give MOTM to Hendo, cos he was outstanding, but that silly yellow card could leave us short in midfield at their place, so went for TAA - he had a brief shaky spell at the start of the 2nd half, but other than that kept Sane very quiet despite being under a lot of pressure going into the match. He was really superb in the first half especially.

Great performance from the whole team though.

VVD has a lot to do with Lovrens improved form but still happy for Dejan as he has had a lot of sh*t thrown at him since he joined us.
Yes he is beginning to look the part alongside VVD

Trent goes home after a hard shift, walks into the kitchen, puts his keys, wallet, and Sane on the table...

      Outstanding young man!

Must accomplished performance ive seen by a Liverpool team this season. VVD made a big difference and there can be no hard luck stories by City. I know its only half time but the fact you never conceded is massive. Looking good for a semi final.

Well played ... Aussie red still a c**t though.  ;D

Always felt he was underrated and needlessly picked out but Hendo was a different level today, and will be a big miss next week. Hopefully, Can is fit by then and we string together 11 players.

Holy f**k. What a match. Fantastic. I was close to tears at one point. Reminded me so much of watching those special matches under Rafa Benitez years ago. The tension in that 2nd half reminded me of us desperately defending against Chelsea in 2005. TAA urging the team on near the end of the match gave me goosebumps. Wow. I hope this is a sign of many great things to come. Just give it to Jürgen Klopp. What a man. I'm speechless.

Actually I'm not. I could speak about this game all night if I had to.

Everyone single one of the starters played well. I often criticise Lovren but I thought he was magnificent, he was on top of everything, his positioning and anticipation was really top notch. City clearly targeted Arnold's side but he must have intercepted two thousand passes today, did his job remarkably well. Henderson is often very criticised here but played his part defensively in a very effective manner (just annoyed me for getting that silly yellow card). No words are needed for our attacking trio, they were all fantastic once more.

Really the only player that did not perform tonight was Solanke. Granted, it was under difficult circumstances, but he reminds me of Divock Origi in the sense that he's tall, he's strong, but he's just so weak in the air, he's got a lot to learn - maybe he can dominate defenders at youth level but it's a totally different thing to play against top defenders like Otamendi. Solanke didn't use his body properly, his timing wasn't great, and he ended up being completely dominated by Nicolas Otamendi who is some 5cm shorter than him. I expected him to win at least some of those balls but he didn't really provide much.

But seriously that's the only negative point I can take from this whole match. Fantastic result. And the clean sheet! Let's get a goal in Manchester and complicate their lives even further.

Easily the best LFC performance over 90 under Klopp, that.

Two halves of totally different tactical brilliance.

"the best team in Europe and the best team in the EPL" just failed to score against a dodgy defence.
Young Trent along with Andy and Virgil and Klarius for that matter have transformed us. Still a bit in shock

I could have voted for so many different players but went with Dejan Lovren for MOTM just because I admit to being quick to criticise him but he was faultless today so credit when it's due.

The tie, of course, is not over because Man City are so bloody brilliant but to me that 90 minutes typified my ideal match of football. Devastating in attack, water tight in defence to the point where the keeper isn't needed to make a save, spine tingling support, tactical brilliance from the men on the touchline. To be honest, I didn't think we had it in us to do that but as we got closer to kick off throughout the day the inner fires within myself started to burn. Where I wasn't feeling it before today, it was a raging fire by kick off and it usually manifests itself in me shaking like nothing on earth! I'm not particularly religious but I definitely felt my spirit awaken because of this match! This meant more to me than I thought and to be honest at half time I was close to tears - I was that proud and emotional of the men in red on and off the field. There is no more beautiful a feeling than your football team and your fellow supporters reminding you of what it is to feel truly alive!

I'm so proud of our team, our manager and our fans. Not for the first time in my life, I owe this club a great debt! As I say, it's not over. Far from over. If we can score 3 at home without reply then Man City certainly can. But tonight can act as a basis, an action plan to build something truly special further down the line. Whether we choose to use it as a basis for the rest of this leg, well that's something we will see next week.

      What a performance!!

I’m so proud of the lads. Not one shot on target for them and a priceless clean sheet. Huge effort.

Let’s just hope Salah’s injury isn’t a serious groin issue.

Karius didn't make a save. We were under pressure for 45 minutes none stop and our keeper didn't have to make a save. Amazing work from our defenders and midfielders after the forwards did their bit in the first 45.

TAA my MOTM, was a monster out there.

As in NHL (USA ice hockey) injury terms, Salah has a "lower body injury"
