Think you'll be looking at Ings and Solanke up front...Hendo can play because of the yellow...CB's should be fine and hopefully Clyne can come in.

The only thing I would say to the question of resting first choice players is - think how you would feel Saturday at full time if we lose or draw.

There may be a couple of forced subs due to injury,  but not wholesale changes.

      I'd try and go 4-4-2

      Karius
      Clyne
      Lovren
      VVD
      Robertson

      Oxlade Chamberlain
      Henderson
      Gini
      Moreno

      Ings
      Solanke

It ensures that the front 3 and Milner is rested, Can is not rushed back and Hendo plays as he's banned from the second leg.

Could give Mane 45 mins from the start ot at half time from the bench.

However also in 2 minds as we are chasing for that champions league spot.

Moreno will be playing against Everton rather than Robertson, I have no doubt about it. I also can't imagine us going 4-4-2.

I think Firmino will be on the bench for sure, but Mane and Salah will be getting a full rest

Firmino got his rest this evening. Whatever Klopp decides on the lineup, I'm good with it. Right now, I'm merely dreaming of Big Ears #6 and he's got us headed that direction.

      1. Don't think we need our first team to beat the blueshite.
      2. Don't think playing our first team are guaranteed to beat the blueshite.
      3. Does finishing inside the top four depend on the result of this game? Probably not.

It's shitty timing that for both clubs, City and us, big derby's have been put in between Champions League QF.  Imagine if we were playing Barca and City were playing Real.  How does this really help English clubs in Europe? It doesn't does it.

Realistically, this is probably strategy wise marginally more important than the City game but it's a horribly difficult decision as to what to do so I'm glad I'm not the manager!

City are going to rest players against the Mancs.  Even more so now.  So we're already hampered by this game.

Spot on for me that,  there's enough there to win that game and we still do need a win. Is it true that that 4th place this year goes straight into CL rather than play off? Or is someone telling me a load of bollocks.

A raft of changes except center backs of course but think Bobby will definitely start

Clyne and Moreno for TAA and Robbo, Can for Milner, Gini for Mane, Ings for Salah

      Bobby
      Ings Chambo
      Gini Hendo Can
      Moreno Virgil Lovren Clyne
      Karius

Subs: Mignolet, Masterson, TAA, Robbo, Milner, Mane, Solanke

I don't think they will and reading Bluemoon their fans want to win the league by beating their biggest rivals. Surely Pep will want to restore confidence by securing the title?

On our game, I'd rest both TAA and Robertson as both full backs will need full energy again come Tuesday. I'd also be tempted to rest Milner, Ox, Salah, Firmino and Mane but I don't think we can so would settle for three of that five.

No qualifiers, but if Arse win Europa top 3 only along with the Arse.

Not quite true, you can have 5 teams in CL by the winners of EL and CL finishing outside of top 4.

So Arse win EL we win CL but finish 5th then 4th place would miss out.

There is no qualifying rounds for the Top 4 they go straight in.

City won't rest against United but I can see us making 4-5 changes to keep things fresh. Rest the fullbacks, Milner, Salah and another one of the forwards. Make sure Can has the weekend off to get fit for Tuesday.

They'll obviously play better than they have in recent weeks so we'll have to be on it to win but a point would be far from a disaster.

We finished 4th last season and united won EL and finished 6th. 5 teams went in. There's no way for City to finish outside the top four this season, if we somehow dropped out the top four, won champions league and Arsenal won Europa league I think 4th could miss out, I'm not entirely sure because this season has had rule changes. As long as we finished fourth we are getting CL football next season.

that's not right either. We finished 4th last season and united won EL and finished 6th. 5 teams went in, the top four get champions league regardless.

Yes but we had no winner of CL who finished outside of the Top 4.

If that had happened then Top 3 only plus winners of CL and EL = 5 places

      Comprende?

Yea i got it, so I edited my post as you're right but concerning Liverpool we finish in the top four we are safe for next season. No team in the CL other than Liverpool can win champions league outside top four, as it is mathematically impossible this season.

Will need a few changes to keep the team fresh for next week.
Probably full backs and elements of the attack.
Henderson should obviously start, but maybe not Ox or Milner.
Rest Salah (hopefully only for 1 game) and Mane (who took a battering against City).

Nice chance for Ings and Woodburn?

Think Bobby has look a bit jaded recently and would rest him and maybe play Mane instead

I would expect the same CB’s with Clyne and Moreno on the flanks.

      Hendo, Gini + another

Bobby going off after 70mins suggests he may start and I would imagine Mane as well.
