Ah, the Champions League.  What a wonderful competition it can be eh?

Now let's make sure we're in it next year.  Let's beat these (or a draw would do) and save ourselves the hassle of needing to win our last game.

Tough game.  They're in form, they haven't just been to Rome and they're at home.  But the way I see it - Salah's due a few goals.

It would be a massive boost to put qualification to bed with the point we need wouldn't it. I suspect we might turn in a bit of a stinker given the efforts of last night (and the last month in general) and the form they have been showing of late. Least it s a Sunday so the lads get an extra day of rest. Getting a win or draw can actually have a big impact on the Champions league and enable Klopp to give some of the first 11 a much needed rest (as well as some useful minutes for players like Clyne and Lallana) so it's a huge game. Important qe get the first goal I think.

      Head firmly on Chelsea now.

I want to see us stuff them at the weekend, bring a bit of confidence back in the league - and all important three points, steer away from the Chavs and seal their fate to the Europa League.

Very difficult game after the emotions of last night. You don't want to change too much and to be fair we have today and another two full days off until the game so we should be recovered. I'd go:

      Karius
      Clyne Lovren VDijk Robertson
      Hendo Milner Gini
      Salah Bobby Mane

I have a feeling that Klopp will look to rest one of his 3 fit midfielders though and we could match them with the 3-5-2 so we could see:

                        Karius
               Lovren VDijk Klavan
      Clyne                              Robertson
                   Hendo Gini
             Salah   Firmino Mane

Any result other than a loss and we have Top 4 secure. Lets do this!!!

Our lads looks knackered in the second half last night so it will be difficult to play at a high tempo against Chelsea.

I think we should play tight at the back similar to the Stoke game last weekend and make sure we don't concede then look to score a goal on the counter.

But not conceding is the priority on Sunday.

The lads will be buzzing about being involved in a final that only so many players get to play in.

That buzz might see us play freely against Chelsea.

Let’s go out and enjoy it, keep the attacking shape and try to score goals. That’s 100% our best way of defending... attacking.

I'd take a draw and run like a hare. Hopefully we have enough gas in the tank after our CL exploits. Can expect Conte to mix it up by starting Giroud and go the aerial route often. Need Virgil to be alert as always. I can definitely live without the Lovren calamities.

Clyne for TAA would probably be the only change. The kiddo might be stretched against Hazard. Hopefully we are not run over in the midfield due to fatigue, that might have a huge say in the game.

      Karius
      Clyne-Lovren-Virgil-Robbo
      Wijnaldum-Hendo-Milner
      Salah-Bobby-Mane

I'm slightly tempted to match their 3-4-2-1 by resting Milner for Klavan but dont see that happening. May be Ings starts and Bobby comes on from the bench..

      Just get a point!

Thought some of the lads looks a bit tired last, Salah kept veering offside, Bob looked a bit whacked, Gini too toward the end.
      Have to make changes imho:

                   Karius
      Clyne Klavan VVD Robertson
       Woodburn Hendo Milner
          Salah Ings Mane

With Bob and Gini to come on and freshen things up.

So unlucky with injuries to Lallana/Can/AOC,  would make a big difference if even two of them were available.

Would take a draw right now.

Up against it for this one. We've been very poor against the big teams away (conceded something like 14 goals in 4 games?) this season and of course we're coming off a massive semi final as well.

Not feeling confident at all but knowing this Liverpool side that means we'll probably thrash them 5-0.

This is still an important game. It's still possible we are not in Champions League next season so I expect the same XI from last night. Depending on the result, perhaps the same XI for Brighton the following week as well.

Yeah, possibly we'll see the same lineup for both games, we'll have two weeks to recover to the final after the Brighton game.

Think we'll win this one 2-1.

A point against Chelsea does the trick, same as a win against against Brighton, unless Chelsea somehow manage to reduce the 17 goals advantage that we have.

My only concern is that the players looked so tired at the end of the match on Wednesday, so I'm a bit nervous about them picking up any injuries but the temptation of beating the chavs and securing top4 is surely to great and I think us at our best can beat Chelsea because they have to come at us which will leave space s to exploit.

OR we could use it as a useful exercise to see if our defence is good enough to shut out the opposition, that could be valuable information for the Madrid game.

One thing is clear I really don't want to have to go into the final game of the season needing a win, although I think we can quite easily beat Brighton as they should have feck all to play for at that point whilst we would be highly motivated.

;D, I know what you mean but it could be a useful exercise to see if we can do it, I'm thinking something similar to how we shut out Citeh in the second half at Anfield and much of the game at the Etihad, barring the F**k up in the opening minute.

Same 11 as the Roma game if everyone is fit. We need to get this done and not go into the last game to qualify for next seaons CL. It's going to be a difficult game as the Chavs also want that 4th spot but we can beat this lot I'm sure. We can't play as bad as we did in Rome as I'm sure that performance was down to a little bit of complacency because we were 5-2 up so we need that heavy metal football that we've seen all season.

Only change I would make is Clyne for TAA. He needs match practice.

Concerned with Giroud against TAA/ Gomez and Lovren on our right hand side. This has been a major weakness for us with crosses coming in into the far post.

I would imagine if I have noticed then just like the Roma coach so have the other coaches.

I’m tired of hearing the anti Stevie G chant by Chelsea supporters so I came up with my own about John Terry (same tune as Stevie’s & Que sera sera)

      John Terry, Terry
      He f@cked up his penalty
And lost you the Champions League
      John Terry, Terry

      END

Need your help guys to pass this on for tomorrow. It’s high time we gave it back to them.

It would be nice for my and our confidence if we could win here. Our form hasn't been that great recently in all honesty.

There's a nagging doubt that fatigue is setting in amongst our top players that needs to be put to bed.

Brighton are now safe from relegation after beating Mancheater..if by some strange quirk of fate the Chavs beat us, no doubt they'll be aided by the Ref, it might be slightly easier to beat Brighton now that they are safe.

Still we go to London to attack, get a point at least, to secure our C/L place next season. I hope Klopp doesn't play 3 central defenders and play deep and hit them on the counter. We don't play well on the back foot. We have to play our natural attacking game. That has obviously served us well, no point in changing now..is there.

I'm actually starting to think we might just sneak 2nd place, if we can beat the chavs tomorrow. West Ham away will not be easy for Manure and their final game is Watford at home which is winnable but I just have a funny feeling about it as they might have their minds on the FA Cup final.

I know its a win win because West Brom are fu**ed anyway unless Swansea get absolutely hammered in their final game and West Brom win big, which just won't happen, I don't think.

Spurs loss is a plus for Chelsea too, means there are two teams they could overtake in the table so maybe a boost for them.

      But we can win this.

Klopp was right.  This is the most important game of his managerial career at Liverpool so far.

Club qualifying for the Champions League two years running is a significant step forward for the club in prestige, pulling power and financial power.

If we get beat today it's going to take an inch of gloss off that midweek win for me.

I’d take a draw all day long. Such a shame we have no one to mix it up with in terms of the front 3. Big lesson for next season, we need seriously quality back up.

The midfield problem is unprecedented and just horrific luckto have 3 key players out of action.

Chelsea will be feeling the pressure more than us, they have to win... hopefully we go out in the sunshine and enjoy our football again.

Klopp has a superb record at Stamford Bridge, let’s hope the run continues.

Henderson is key today, needs to play a stormer.

Be at the airport for this one. How much of the game I see will depend on security. It's taken 90 minutes to get in to the airport before and then security again, after getting my boarding pass and other times it has taken 15 minutes.

I like those rumours. Was hoping to see that very thing. Could be an option we end up using in the CL final - makes sense to have a look at those 2 in those positions now. And is likely to work pretty well today too in my opinion.

I reckon we are putting these to bed this afternoon. Said in the prediction league 2-1, I think, but really getting a feeling we will put 4 or 5 by them.

Let’s not limp over the line for champions league qualification with a draw, let’s put these in their place. Still remember that game at Anfield 4 years ago and how much it hurt.
