Yeah. Let's stick with Ings and Solanke as attacking backup instead 🤔

Cool little finish that. Great strike that hit the post as well.

I get that he's not exactly a gegenpress type player. He's probably a bit too lazy and maybe too up himself. But I still think he's tempting as an option off the bench, if he is indeed on offer for £12m. He can play. Seems to like the big occasion as well.

Tricky one for Jürgen I suspect. I'm sure FSG will be quite keen at that price. I'd rather we just paid Dries Mertens £23m buy-out clause and got a top striker and winger rolled into one. But, if we are going down the back up winger PLUS back up striker route, Shaqiri as the back up winger is one you can make a case for.

I doubt the powers at FSG even know or care as to who he is.

I reckon he'll be lighting up the top of their accountants' moneyball spreadsheets right now.

On a side note, people were saying he was too fat coming into this game. It's quite hard to tell cos he's a funny shape at the best of times, like a wee tank. His fitness seemed ok though. He doesn't seem to get injured much for a pacey player either. Probably on account of his hamstrings being about 3 inches long.

He can be good on his day but infuriatingly lazy most others.

But when he's good he's really good

I'd still take him for £12 mill that's peanuts these days I mean we paid £20 million for Lazar F***ing Markovic.

Why do people just assume he’s looking for an off the bench role? He’s likely going to want to play week in and week out.

He could...just going to have to dislodge one of the front 3...if he can do that than fair play to him.

At his age he is not going to get another offer from a big club...he's been there and unimpressed at 2 others...that being said I not sure LFC are even more than casually interested.

If he's available for £12m plus Klopp likes him then it's worth a punt. Klopp would neat to sort out the laziness though.

      Don't forget inconsistent, underwhelming, apathetic.

He scored an important goal, good for him. But 12 million is still a lot of money and we can find someone with not so many negatives for a backup forward role.

I wanted him before yesterday's game, you can check the thread. We need players who really change the game from the bench. He has that spark in him, Klopp can give him the love or the cane to improve him.

Big time finish from the lad yesterday. My concern would be that he is a bit of a lazy fecker without the ball and would question whether he would fit our style of play. It doesn't matter what you can do with the ball, if you don't work like a dog to get it back you don't feature for Klopp. Plus it's not like he is being linked with any of our rivals. But if the release clause really is as low as £12 million then it's probably worth a punt. I'll not be particularly excited if he signs or disappointed if he doesn't tbh.

At £12m and assuming the wages are not to insane I really don't see much of a downside here, can someone explain why we should not sign him, I mean he may well not work out but its not exactly a big risk and shouldn't affect us going for other other targets this summer.
