It annoys me seeing pundits say ‘he has to win a trophy this year’

Ok - so what if he doesn’t? Who the F**k is going to take over that’s better? Nobody, no one.

Klopp IS the best manager in world football and he’s turned a team that were throwing games at the Bernabeu like a tiny club into world beaters who no one wants to face. His transfer business has quite frankly been on another level to any other business done in Liverpool’s history.

I will cry when this man eventually leaves (which I hope won’t be for at least another 10 years)

No doubt he'll want to win a trophy this season.
No doubt he has done since he got here.
Keep getting to the finals boss.
Keep trying to win the next game.
      Eventually the trophies will come.

I don't find that annoying but rather a fair assessment given where we are in his tenure (3yrs in) and the money he has paid for some of our best players. To say he's the best manager in world football is not a reach (even if a few here question his every move) but every manager has a shelf life and we could realistically be close to halfway into his time at Liverpool and with us having our best season so far this year it would be a huge disappointment if we end the season with nothing to show for it.

I am hopeful that we will win various trophies while he's here because he deserves it but if when the time comes where he wants to move on and we did not win a thing it would be a massive disappointment. Ultimately this is Liverpool and we should expect silverware, not some smaller team who'd be happy with having a "good season". To truly be successful here he has to win something.

Totally agree with everything you say.

Eventually he WILL win some silverware for the Reds.

If not this season then the following.

There was also big mourning when he left Mainz and Dortmund.

Nowadays they glorify him as their best manager alltime.

Successful AND sympathetic, which is rarely to be found.

And so compelling when talking football.

      A football maniac.  ;D

Football isn't all about winning trophies these days its primarily entertainment and you can cope without silverware if you have a season where your team is aggressively trying to win every game the silverware is just the icing on the cake.
DO people really want to win trophies boring the sh*t out of fans like Maureen has just done.
Football has moved on the money now has an incredible influence on who wins what and its just simply not possible to deny that.

Cups won in tournaments that include teams from tiny hamlets in the EL...hard to imagine this rates as satisfying.
Cups won in tournaments so unimpressive teams deploy their entire back bench........If the teams don't care why should I? Or any mediot for that matter
The UEFA Cup.........aka....the best loser in Europe..... I'd cash the check and tell EUFA to keep their cup

Sure, I'm an outsider with no real sense of the importance of these add-on tournaments to the teams and their fans.
For me, only 2 trophies prove a team's worth...... CL & PL ....and everything else is just canned pie filler.
      Best in Europe
      Best in PL
      In that order....but that's me.

Closest to a failed transfer would be Caulker. Absolutely pointless signing and shows how far we have progressed in a short space of time.
But was just a short term loan so no harm done and easily forgotten.

      Slightly disagree mate.

That paid for itself with Joe Allen’s equaliser versus the Arse.

I don’t class Grujic as a failure - £5m for a kid with talent is a snip and we’ll get our money back.

Karius is closest to a fail - if only because of the final.

Again though at £4m it’s more evidence of the different stores we’re shopping in now.

just look at our last 46 games many of them with Karius and Mignolet just 3 defeats so wasting your time looking for Jurgens signing disasters. Why is anyone looking for faults this is the Jürgen thread just like the man himself positivity should be the norm.
