Absolutely. I think he'd be mad not to. Regardless of the opponent it just shouldn't be on our radar this competition. Nothing but a waste of time, a competition that only remains because it's another chance for clubs to garner a few more pennies.

Most pointless competition in the world.

Might get to see Shaqiri against PSG. Want to get some game time into his legs.

Studge for Bobby and Hendo for Milly are the only changes I can see Jürgen making for this.

Funnily enough I think we’re more likely to see Shaq for Bobby and Mo thru middle......if Bobby not right.

I would love, love, love, love to see Hendo play the Milner role.

Last thing I read was not until after international break in October

After tonight we have Soton at home then League Cup match at home vs Chelsea so I would expect a lot of squad players to get some minutes this week.

      Perfect at this stage.

I would now go for Chelsea,

      Alisson

      Clyne Matip (Gomez/Van Dijk) Moreno

      Keita Fabinho (Milner/Hendo)

      Shaqiri Sturridge Brewster

Still a pretty solid team. Would be ideal if Lovren and Lallana were fit, as they would both slot straight in. Preferably I wouldn’t want Gomez or VVD to play, a reason why someone like Klavan would still be good to have at the club. That is assuming however Klopp isn’t going to play a youth player at CB, which would be fantastic to see.

Brewster won't be available until December. With his injury today, although minor, Virgil probably will be saved until the league match, agree with you about rotating the fullbacks, but Matip and Gomez should be the center half pairing.

I notice Curtis Jones was left out of the U23 lineup yesterday so if you're looking for a young player to debut, he might be the one at attacking mid with Fab and Keita. Dom Solanke has returned to training so he could play at forward with Daniel and Shaq.

That would be interesting with Curtis Jones. I just worry if Gomez plays this game, it would mean Matip will have to play at least one of the big three games before the break, unless he were to throw Lovren in when he gets fit, but I don’t think that’s wise or what Klopp will do. In my mind if we can play a full strength team for Chelsea and City in the league and then a half strength team against Napoli in order to get us hopefully a point, I’d be happy.
