      Pre-Match: Liverpool V Southampton (22/09/18 - 15:00)
      Sep 19, 2018 08:59:38 am

Back to the team that has served us so well so far this season for me. The lads should be buzzing after our last gap win last night and with the two changes being Keita and Firmino, our energy levels should be up again!

We can rest everyone from this team for the midweek League cup game. The run to continue and the clean sheets to return. 3-0 Reds!  :kop5cf8koxp6: :kop5cf8koxp6: :kop5cf8koxp6:

I think your going to see fair bit of rotation for this game to keep guys fresh for the run in of Chelsea (a) Napoli (a) and Citeh (h). Sonton are are decent side and even with changes that will happen we should have 3 point. As far as line-up I feel like there is a lot of options to play but I do see maybe something like this

      --------------------Alisson----------------
      TAA-------Matip-----------VvD---Moreno
      ------------------Fabihno-----------------
      ----------Ketia------------Gini------------
      Shaqiri----------Firmino------------Mane

I think we will start to see a bit of rotation in this game.  I think Fabinho and Shaqiri will both start, while Firmino and Keita will also be restored to the 11.  There is a chance we could see Clyne or Matip make their way into the lineup, but Klopp will probably be wary of making too many changes.  My guess is:

      Alisson
      Clyne - Gomez - VVD - Robbo
      Fabinho - Hendo
      Keita
      Salah - Firmino - Shaqiri

Going for a 3-0 win to keep the perfect start going!!

No need to rest , full strength and a rest in the league cup for our main players.

Only changes for me would be in midfield where I would love us to play, Keita, Wijnaldum and Milner.

Would suspect virtually the same line up, apart from Keita and Bobby starting.

The cup game vs Chelsea is when I’d look to bring in Clyne, Matip etc, not now, not in a league game that’s a lot more important than the Carabao Cup or whatever it’s called now. Chelsea play on a Thursday, they will find it harder to prepare for the weekend and a cup game against us, followed by another game against us.

No letting the foot off the peddle vs Saints, keep the consistency there and the momentum increasing. Sure as hell wouldn’t touch the defence for this game, especially not for Clyne who hasn’t even made a match day squad yet.

Did the League Cup and CL tie against Napoli dates get swapped?  I thought we had Napoli next week with the League Cup match the following.

Knowing the League Cup match is next week, I agree with Purple and 7kk7 -- full team against Saints with rotation in the LC match.

The other players will need game time to keep them sharp for when needed.

So as well as resting the likes of Milner etc the likes of Fabinho, Matip etc need proper game time that’s why we have a squad, otherwise they are not match sharp along with the risks of over playing others.

Thinking of going for a 3  0 win for the Reds in this game against the Saints. It seems that we have bought all their best players over the past few seasons. It could be When the Reds go marching on, by the end of the game.

Never thought I'd be uttering these words, but now could be exactly the time to do this, and to keep LFC's attackers on their toes for the campaign ahead.

Start with Sturridge instead of Mo.

      There.  I've said it.

Home V saint's = home banker...or should be,  i do think Jürgen will tinker but retain the nucleus and have a very strong bench just incase some titties go up....I'd go thus.....

      .....                     Alisson
         Clyney    Gomez  Virgil    Moreno
                               Fabinho
                 Milner                      Keita
              Salah         Firmino        Mane

Bench;  Mignolet,  Matip, Henderson, Trent, Robbo,  Sturridge,  Shaqiri.....

Air on the side of caution....if by chance we're up by 2/3 @ ht, pull Jimmy off for Henderson,  Shaqiri for Salah/Mane, Sturridge for Bobby....and hope/pray Bertie don't go awol, but Virgil should keep him in check anyhoo,

Think that's good enough to see off Soton, don't think they'll trouble us too much, but certainly no room for complacency,

A conservative 3-0 for the Mighty Redmen...

Hope Danny Ings gets a huge reception from the Kop.

      Saturday 22nd September
      Liverpool 15:00 Southampton
      Tuesday 25th September
      Liverpool 19:45 Chelsea (League Cup)
      Saturday 29th September
      Chelsea 17:30 Liverpool

We have enough recovery time going into the Southampton game, but the Chelsea league cup game is only 2 days recovery, so playing 2nd string team vs Chelsea (league cup) and giving our main players 6 days recovery would make sense?

Would rather go with the current first XI & save the rotation for the league cup. First home league game in a while I'll be an armchair fan as letting my nephew go.

Full strength for me with the rotation in midweek.

Keita and Firmino in for Hendo and Sturridge.

LAst night Jürgen picked Henderson much to some posters annoyance and again the Boss was right and they were wrong yet here they are dropping Henderson after an imperious display. Jürgen has been easing him back from the World Cup which clearly has had an effect on a whole host of players. So believe me when Jürgen knows Henderson is fit he will pick him because he trusts him 100% which is more than some supporters do. Its also quite right the new signing have to earn their place and learn how playing for Jürgen is going to mean incredible hard work and they need to be patient and he can show them how Robbo was given time to settle in and then flourish.
Its a long season and hopefully a successful one and we will need all of our squad but at this early stage in the league we need to go strong and go for number 7.

Nobody is being dropped, just rotated. Henderson should play alongside Fabinho in league cup. It needs to be seen if Fabinho can be a number 8 with Henderson as number 6. Fabinho is struggling for a place at DM right now with Gini and Hendo, but as a number 8 he could get more opportunities. We can't test Hendo with Fabinho in the league, it's just too risky.  It's important to consider future games just as much as the next game. We also need quality to replace Keita when he needs a rest, with Ox out Fabinho could do that.
