Only just in from work and missed any sort of coverage of the game.

Would have taken a point away to Chelsea at the start of the season so a decent enough result.

Struggling to see how he 'outfoxed' Jürgen given that we outdid their defence more times that they did.

We have a better team, and relied on a bit of magic from an individual to get anything out of the game. Our midfield tend to dominate these games against top opposition that come out to play (Spurs, City, PSG) as we swarm/dominate thr middle of the pitch. That wasn't the case today due to Sarris approach/setup. Not saying we weren't in the game.

Brilliant goal by Sturridge, to shut the Chavs fans up. A valuable squad player and man of the match tonight.

Chelsea were at home we had 53% possession and had more shots and more shots on Target than Chelsea so I am struggling to understand your post. We dominated the second half and could have scored 3 or 4 Shaqiri missed a sitter.
Not many teams if any will go to Chelsea and come away with better stats

I thought it was a good performance in what was a very tight match. I remember when I was a kid some people have a saying that a good keeper wins you 10 points a season and tonight Alisson got us 1 point with timely save on Hazard in 2nd half.Much like the game mid-week we really never took our chances, that Shaqiri miss was really painful to watch but again Daniel continues good scoring form early in the season.

Good saves and all, for Alisson to reach "world class" level he needs to start putting toes and finger nails in big moments and keep those shots out. Some goals you're just not going to stop, but goals like Lamela's a couple weeks ago and Hazard's today he needs to keep out. They were big games and big moments where a De Gea or Courtois find a way to keep them out. Overall he has been very solid as expected, but we'll likely need more than solid to win the league.

It was as clinical a strike as I've seen from Hazard. I'd also much rather have Alisson in goal than Courtois.

Got to be honest, I don't really know what you're going on about.

Alisson MOTM for me ... did get a hand to Hazards goal but the accuracy just beat him.

One on one with Hazard ... he did it.

I have to say the Chavs were lucky . Two goal line clearances by Luiz and Rudiger.  A couple of misfires by Mo ....miss by Shaq...any of them could have gone in.

Yes . Fair result. Have to accept Jürgen has kept more faith in Sturridge than I have and Daniel deserved his wages today.

I think West Brom was his Wake-Up call.

We're still top ... its only GD .  Unbeaten in the league.

Wait until we are really firing. Our team is still gelling with the new players.

IT was a good job we did not sell Danny Sturridge in the off season.I thought we messed around with the ball at the back too much today to be honest,it put our goalie under tremendous pressure at times.Except for the Chelsea goal he was up to it so well done.We are still unbeaten in the league this season so that can't be bad.

This is a poor attempt at humor, yes? So does his body decide when to break down based on contract statuses or was he clever enough all these years to fool the entire team, including the medical team, into thinking he's hurt? JFC

It's recycling those ridiculous claims that Sturridge's injuries were in his head...

Let’s get off the lads backs. That was a great effort and we got the point - the very  least we deserved, although Chelsea are going to be hugely competitive in the league. Brilliant work from Daniel - I can see him getting 20+ from the bench this season!
Salad looks tired and worried, like a man with the world on his shoulders. Wish I could have a cheeky pint with him and a give him a good laugh - but I guess he doesn’t drink! Well done the mighty Reds, goal of the season in the bag already, and still undefeated. YNWA

didn't he make at least two really important saves one on one with Hazard.

Huh? He showed up big time today, he pulled a lot of good saves and I hope Gini thanked him later on because Alisson saved his @rse with that lousy back pass of his that almost cost us, but thankfully the GK was super quick off his line to read it. He couldn't do anything about Hazard's goal, no GK could, it was an excellent finish. We signed him for a lot of money because we needed a goalkeeper who could step up in big games and own it and he did exactly that today. Brilliant performance.

Lets not only fault him on those goals he conceded, the goal went in the far post not the near post, probably De Gea and Courtois would not have saved that too while hazard is a lethal left footer like Salah. Would our other goalkeepers able to save that and the 3 blocks? I think we all know the answer. Alisson has certainly helped us to a point and prevented Chelsea from surging forward with another 2 points, it is clear to see. It could have been 3 for us, if our front 3 were on target. In summary, he is a big upgrade of what we have before. He will probably helped us to another 10 points with his saves in the whole campaign, i just throw a wild guess here.

I agree he was immense today, but you cannot score a goal like that and not win MOTM. Just give Danny goal of the season award right now because no one is scoring a better one than that this season.

Probably we look at the matter in different perpectives, Danny scored an undisputable  world class goal to give us a point while Alisson saved us probably 3 times to save us a point. So, there's no right or wrong here.

That was a f**king great game of footie!!  We probably just edged it in terms of number and quality of chances created, but a draw was a fair result and not a bad result in the grand scheme of things.

Danny has to be playing his way into contention for a regular starting role.  Less than 180 total minutes and he's already got 4 goals -- not a bad return that.

Alisson 8 - Might have done better with their goal but boy did he keep us in it today. About 2 world class saves (at least)
TAA 8.5 - Forget sometimes how young this lad is. He was immense out there and hardly put a foot wrong. My MotM
VvD 8 - Poise, precision, presence and passing! Future LFC captain all day long. Alan Hansen likes this.
Gomez 8 - Looks like he's been playing alongside VvD for years - and doesn't look out of place. Growing in stature with each passing game.
Robertson 7.5 - Such a high work rate every single game. Tireless and has end product.

Wijnaldum 7.5 - Looks like a different player in his new role. Faded a bit second half but looks classy on the ball. Intelligent player who keeps things moving.
Henderson 7 - Feel a bit sorry for him. I think he has orders about tidying up and keeping possession and not to go 'gung-ho'. Most teams have a 'Henderson' type player in their midfield.
Milner 7 - Our problem is we have two Henderson type players in our midfield. Still, a solid display if not barnstorming.

Firmino 7.5 - Never stops running and closing down. Not his best today, but plays almost every minute every game for a reason.
Mane 7 - Needs to look up a bit more and see the playing field around him.
Salah 7 - Left his shooting boots in the dressing room but his movement and vision is not something you can teach a player. I think he's putting too much pressure on himself.

Shaq 6 - Not many chances to shine but was willing and got stuck in
      Studge 8 - Wow!
Keita 8 - What an impact! Going forward and tracking back.

I think you’re spot on with everything aside from Trent - he was miles away from his man for their goal and was caught out similarly at least once more. I know he’s young but boy-o-boy, you’ve got to learn your lesson against the likes of Hazard.

They live from what they get out of the midfield. Our midfield is pretty good, it's just that we'd need some more vertical and creative play from there. Gini/Hendo/Milly are like good "nice" housewifes that take care of the home, but we'd need at least some MILF there, so to speak. In that very sense Chelsea has the luck to have a true porn star with Hazard.

Pissing myself laughing at work reading this. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
