Fxxk Butlins they can go pontins

Stayed Pontins Southport a few years back. We left it late to come down for the Newcastle game on the Monday. We could only get a hotel Sun - Thu in town so took a chance on Pontins.

It was an “experience”!

Ended up it was Grand National weekend and it seemed like every Irish traveller was there staying in Pontins after the racing.

It was hilarious - like every cliche you can imagine x 10.

My personal favourite was the 10 yr old sitting outside sipping a pint with his arl fella 

If we struggle again after a break for warm weather training, will be demanding they semd them to butlins for a few days in their next break

Trust me half the team will come back divorced if it's one of the adult weekends !

Literally no-one Stuey - we were just determined to get down for the Saturday and had booked tickets for a gig at The Atkinson in Southport before we had a hotel.

With it being national weekend it was that or a guest house and Linda can’t cope with shared bathrooms.....

In it’s defence the room was basic but immaculately clean.

Don’t get me wrong mate it’s not pretty...........but for folks on a certain budget for a family it could be the difference between a holiday or not I guess.

For us it was literally a bed for the 4 of us after the gig then into town ASAP the next morning.

Think we were Novotel in Hannover Street the rest of that week.

Met up with WAHS and Firepool from here in Slug and Lettuce the next night. My lads rinsed Dave for a badge I think too........

Just been to pick my tickets up for Tuesday night looking forward to a good night , be leaving early for this one taking no chances .

I would be less bothered if we had come outta the last break on fire and on form. Fingers crossed it doesn’t take us another two games to get going this time around.
