Pissed it in the end, funny how tho the commntators say we were nervy cos Burnley got a late goal yet Watford done the same V City but they won comfortably, once again the pro-Manc media bias shines through, only difference is its light blue and not red!!
YNWA
We were playing against a manc team in this game, remember. Obviously the media were biased against us. They all believe the myth that City are the goat, and don't want the myth they created, challenged.
First Burnley goal was a foul and glad Alisson let the refs know it even if he got a yellow out of it. That type of incompetence cannot be tolerated but we didn't tighten up and instead took it to them being by far the better team. Front 3 were fantastic, Hendo came on and delivered a great 25 minutes and Keita looked good coming in as well. My guess is he starts in Munich on Wednesday and this was just a warm up to get some of the rust off.
Overall a great game particularly in such awful playing conditions. Looked like hell being out there in the rain, hail and wind.
Not as bad as the away game tbh. The interview zone of that shoebox they call a football "ground" steamed up after the game then.
Second time they've scored from a corner against us this season and the second time Alisson was fouled in the process. They really are a horrible dirty team to play against. Their style of football belongs in Division 4, where they were 30 years ago.
Yes but that's in bygone age. Since 2006sum13 seasons ago we have only won a league cup which hardly counts as a serious competition anymore. We need silverware. I think if we get the monkey off our back more will follow quickly. I hope fifa get tough on city too and Dock them. Points if there found guilty. Or will they be let off with slap on wrists ie fine that they laugh atand mean nothing,
If they listen to you, we'll win nothing.
FIFA have no authority to dock City any points. The FA won't either. UEFA may give them Brexit, after a (very) lengthy appeals process.
I'm not mad or anything. Just went from 9 points clear to trailing city by a point.
The 9 point lead lasted 20 hours, not even a full day. Blink and you missed it.
We're now in a position to go 2 points clear next weekend. It's not something to crow about, nor make it a one-horse race. We still need a break from elsewhere, but it's better to be 2 points ahead than 2 points behind. We only need to be 1 ahead after the Wolves game.
I don't see Keita improving, not at all. He started well, then regressed, then stopped his regression recently, but still not remotely the force we all envisioned. If he didn't get it up to now - a full season - he won't get it. Cut the losses early and re-sell Keita and try Fekir.
We paid top dollar for him, and a premium on top of that. We're not selling him just yet. Rafa might throw expensive players out the door after 6-12 months, but that is not Jürgen's way. It took him 3 years just to see Markovic off, while Migs and Moreno are still around, so we're not selling Keita anytime soon. Fabinho was useless 6 months ago, now he's essential. Jürgen has the patience of job, some of us need to find it as well.
Agree. Chelsea appears to have reorganized pretty well after the Kepa fiasco.
The Chelsea game is on Anniversary Weekend, and 10 years on from the 4-4 draw in the European Cup. Unlike then, go ahead this year and they'll probably fold up their tent as they did against City. This isn't our League Cup team facing them.
We're finished with the manc teams this season with 3 wins, 2 draws, and 11 points from the 6 league games. Next week, we go to London for the final time this season, and we know what the reward for winning is.
We now have 73 points, 8 games earlier than last year, and 7 games earlier than the year before.
We now have 68 goals, 5 games earlier than the 2009 challenge.
We now have scored 17 goals in 5 home games in 2019, an average of 4+ per game, and 31 goals in the last 10 home league games, winning 9 of them.
Win the next game and we're back on our perch.
Some people will complain that we coulda/woulda/shoulda done more. But we've taken 73 points to date from 90. If we didn't have the Sheikhs on the Take against us, we would be 12 points clear by now, and we could name the date for the title to come home.
