So proud of the club tonight. European Champions and 97 league points. This team is up there with the very best ever.

European football is indebted to us for some fantastic performances and giving the world of football fans so much drama whether that is Istanbul, or the Alves game Barcelona there are so many.  But this time we had to bring the trophy home.  There were too many domestic rivals wishing, praying for us to not win.  It was all about doing a professional job.  And the game I watched I did not get nervous once.  I thought we controlled the game from start to finish.  We started on fire got the penalty and then just went in control mode.  It was all about Spurs to take risks but they didn't they were scared.  They waited till the end of the game and then tried to take risks and then we got our second. 

I think the 3 week break showed and to be quite frank it would have been a massive disadvantage playing another European team this needs to be addressed for next season.

The penalty dictated the way we played in the first half. We had to be watchful and couldn't really get to high so consequently we were caught between two stools as it were.

We never really attacked with any fluency. Improved a bit 2nd half but still couldn't attack with our normal freedom. But still had opportunities. Yes they came at us in the last 30 but Alisson produced some good saves.

Not a great game but the conditions, 3 weeks off, the strange start to the game all came into it. This will now relax Klopp a bit and he can lead us to even more next season. Have a great holiday Jürgen.

It's bad enough to have a go at just about every player in our side during the match, but this narrative about Klopp being under pressure and such a pathetically-backhanded compliment on the evening of our greatest win in 14 years, convinces me you are either a more clever WUM than most or just an unfailingly negative, glass-empty type of person. get the fvk in avoided this place for the last couple of days, was so fvking nervous all day and during the game was at my nails with only one goal in it. Origi then kept fvking up those passes was pulling my hair out but OMG he then put it away and i was running and screaming around the garden hahahahaha

Well that was easier than I was expecting, Not a classic, but we scored first and then defended well and asked Spurs what they'd got. And the answer was - not a lot. At no point did I think we were going to lose. Strangely not nerve wracking.

MOTM to Alisson cos I thought he exuded that calmness from the back that we needed. Any of Spurs little threats he dealt with comfortably, and just projected confidence.

We needed to win that, to get the vibe of being a trophy winning side. We have. And we are now set up to go on and win the PL and more. We've got ourselves a serious team now, should be for years to come.

The one thing I was thinking before the game was what Klopp would say to motivate the team to not only win the European Cup but to banish last years defeat.  I remember what Herb Brooks said. He was the coach of the 1980 US Hockey team that beat the invincible Red machine in the semi final to advance to the gold medal game.Five minutes before the game started, in the locker room He simply told the players..."If you lose this game. You will remember it for the rest of your f***in' lives". He then got up and walked out to the bench. From what I know of Klopp I bet he said something similar.
